On March 18 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Journalists Association solemnly held the 2024 National Conference with the motto of Solidarity - Discipline - Innovation - Development. This is one of the activities towards the 100th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

Attending the opening ceremony of the 2024 National Conference of the Vietnam Journalists Association were comrades Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; Party Central Committee member, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung; comrade Le Quoc Minh, Party Central Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai and comrades leading central and Ho Chi Minh City departments, ministries, branches; leaders of press agencies, leaders and members of the Journalists Association at all levels.
Speaking at the Conference, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia requested that all levels of the Association and journalists and members continue to thoroughly grasp, deeply understand and effectively implement Directive No. 43 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new situation.
"Journalists' associations at all levels need to orient press agencies to closely follow the practical cause of innovation and development of the country, current issues; deeply and vividly reflect the breath and pulse of life to produce many high-quality, objective, authentic press works with high combativeness, profound cultural and humanistic values.
Each press work must be a convincing message, affecting both the minds and hearts of the public, thereby orienting public opinion, creating social consensus, contributing to strengthening people's trust in the Party, the State and the cause of national construction and development. Urgently develop plans and projects to prepare for organizing activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day," comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia noted.
Also at the Conference, comrade Le Quoc Minh said: "In 2023, the Vietnam Journalists Association will continue to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress on the task of building a traditional, revolutionary, professional, modern and humane press. At the same time, strengthen management and orientation of press management agencies, focus on training and building a team of press managers, reporters, editors, and collaborators with political will, pure moral qualities, and professional expertise to improve the effectiveness of propaganda work".
Mr. Minh also stated: "In the context of difficulties and common challenges of the world, the region and the country, with unprecedented challenges, the press has always been a vanguard force in effectively propagating the policies of the Party and the State, always closely associated with and accompanying the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Information and propaganda work in the press on the implementation of political tasks, economic, social, cultural, national defense, security issues, etc. has been given attention, focus, and depth, creating a positive spread".

In particular, reporting on the Summary of the 2024 National Conference and Vision for 2025, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized the Association's motto of Solidarity - Discipline - Innovation - Development, with specific tasks, continuing to innovate the Association's direction of activities "towards the grassroots" with focus, key points, and close to reality. Thereby, promptly grasping the operating conditions of the Association at all levels and the Central Agency of the Association helps the direction work to be truly effective.
"Continue to strengthen discipline, order and awareness of compliance with instructions and implementation of the association at all levels and member journalists; attach importance to inspection and supervision of the situation at the grassroots level to proactively detect and promptly handle problems arising in the practical activities of the association and press activities.
Along with that, direct the Association at all levels to continue reviewing the current status of the Association's activities and members; recommend competent authorities to create favorable conditions for the Association at all levels to continue to innovate the content and form of activities, creating positive and clear changes to effectively contribute to the innovation process as well as the development of Vietnamese journalism; direct and create favorable conditions for emulation clusters to actively implement the Association's activities.
In addition to organizing the Spring Press Festival, seminars and thematic discussions, there are also many meaningful professional, cultural and sports activities, strengthening solidarity among members and emulation clusters of localities...", the Report stated.

Journalist Pham Thi My, President of the Vietnam Women Journalists Club, was moved to share, "The innovations at the Summary Conference really brought about results, creating momentum for journalists nationwide. The Conference truly became a place for meeting and exchanging experiences between managers and journalists nationwide."
At the event of journalists, in the afternoon of the same day, the Conference to review 3 years of implementing Decision No. 558/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister and the Emulation and Reward Conference in 2024 took place.
