Attending the event were representatives of the Party Central Office, the Central Organizing Committee, the Central Inspection Committee, the Central Internal Affairs Committee, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a number of key units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the Conference, on behalf of the Party Committee of the Ministry, comrade Ha Kim Ngoc, member of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, reported a summary review of the leadership and direction of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2023.
Opinions expressed at the 2023 Review Conference, in addition to advantages, are a year with many difficulties, due to the world situation having many major and complicated changes. The requirements and tasks set for foreign affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are extremely heavy, the workload to be handled is huge, and foreign affairs activities are taking place rapidly.
In that context, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been highly united, resolutely leading and directing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to synchronously and effectively implement foreign affairs work and build the diplomatic sector; excellently completing the assigned tasks, making important contributions to the great achievements of foreign affairs work, which have been highly appreciated by the leaders of the Party, State and people.
Notably, the work of advising, forecasting, and providing foreign information to the Politburo and the Secretariat has made much progress; many visits by key leaders to neighboring countries, important partners, traditional friends, and many visits by leaders of other countries to Vietnam, including historic visits, have been well organized, creating a new development in the foreign affairs and international integration situation of our country.
The framework of relations with many important partners has been raised to a new level; cooperation has been expanded and become more substantial and effective; contributing to firmly protecting independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity; Vietnam's international position and prestige continue to be enhanced...
The work of building the diplomatic sector has had positive and important changes, in the direction of professionalism and modernity; improving the quality of construction, perfecting many regulations and processes in important and regular fields of work, making the direction and operation work increasingly scientific and effective; improving the quality of inspection and supervision work to promptly detect and prevent early and remotely; to promptly prevent early and remotely shortcomings and violations; continuing to promote innovation in consular work, taking people and businesses as the center of service, public, transparent, and in accordance with regulations.
Based on the assessment of the work results in 2023, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out many valuable lessons, including always closely following the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress, the directions of the Politburo, the Secretariat and the leaders of the Party and State.
Continue to be unanimous, pay attention and make the highest efforts in organizing and implementing; closely link the building of the Diplomatic sector with the implementation of foreign affairs tasks; constantly strengthen Party building and rectification, especially in politics, ideology, ethics, and lifestyle; closely coordinate with agencies, departments, and localities in implementing foreign affairs...

Speaking at the Conference, representatives of Party committees and agencies at the Central level highly appreciated and congratulated the working results of the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; proposed and suggested a number of issues for the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to consider, to continue to further improve the quality and effectiveness of leadership and direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Concluding the Conference, Secretary of the Party Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son assessed that the Party Committee and the entire diplomatic sector had maintained their mettle, promoted the glorious tradition of the sector, overcome many difficulties and excellently completed political tasks, contributing directly to the country's foreign affairs achievements.
The Party Committee Secretary assessed that although many results have been achieved, there are still aspects and tasks that are not good and the efficiency is not high.
The Secretary requested the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote the achievements in 2023 and from the beginning of the term, focus on leading and directing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; continue to thoroughly grasp the guiding thoughts and strategic orientations on foreign affairs of the 13th National Congress; well organize the implementation of resolutions, conclusions and directives of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat on foreign affairs.
The Party Executive Committee of the Ministry proactively and creatively implements foreign affairs activities; enhances the quality of research, consulting, and strategic forecasting; focuses on effectively implementing the High-Level Foreign Affairs Program; deepens the framework of relations with countries that have been upgraded, while continuing to promote the development of relations with other important partners; and promotes Party building and rectification.
The Party Committee of the Ministry actively promotes innovation in thinking, working methods and styles towards professionalism and modernity; builds a comprehensive and modern team of Diplomatic staff to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
