On September 18, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference to connect trade and introduce and promote products of the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program of the province in 2024.
Conference overview
Implementing the OCOP program, in recent years, localities in the province have received attention and direction from all levels and sectors. Thanks to that, the awareness of officials and people about the meaning and importance of developing OCOP products has been significantly improved. The number of products recognized as meeting OCOP standards has increased every year. From 2021 to present, the whole province has had 220 more products and product groups recognized as meeting OCOP standards. Accumulated to the end of 2023, the whole province has 237 OCOP products, of which 1 product meets 5-star standards; 54 products meet 4-star standards and 182 products meet 3-star standards. There are 161 subjects participating in the program, including 24 companies/enterprises; 82 cooperatives/groups, 55 households/production establishments of 126/225 communes, wards and towns.
In terms of value chain, the whole province has 99 products that have achieved the value chain, accounting for 42% of the total number of OCOP products in the province. OCOP products have met quality and food safety standards and regulations; have diverse designs and packaging, are environmentally friendly, and meet market requirements. Thereby, contributing to increasing value, helping entities increase production scale and revenue. Product promotion, introduction and consumption have also received attention. In the province, 15 points of sale and introduction of OCOP products have been established in 10/13 districts, cities and towns.

At the conference, delegates discussed difficulties and obstacles in the process of connecting and consuming OCOP products; thereby proposing solutions to improve the effectiveness of business linkage and cooperation.
Through the conference to connect trade and introduce and promote OCOP products, OCOP entities can grasp market information; at the same time, it is an opportunity to exchange and share experiences on production, processing, preservation and product consumption processes, thereby having solutions to improve product quality, improve designs and orient appropriate production and business strategies to meet market requirements.
