Over the years, along with building a strong Association, actively participating in building and protecting the Party and government, the Veterans Association at all levels in Yen Khanh district has always focused on educating revolutionary traditions, contributing to fostering national pride and the will to be self-reliant and self-reliant for the younger generation to continue the heroic tradition of their predecessors.
Vu Duy Thanh Secondary School (Khanh Hai Commune) and the Commune Veterans Association have just coordinated to organize for outstanding students to offer incense and clean the Vu Duy Thanh Temple.
Here, after respectfully offering incense, the students were introduced by the officers of the War Veterans Association of the commune about the background, life and career of the famous Vu Duy Thanh, an outstanding son of Khanh Hai homeland. After that, the students participated in cleaning the church area. This is one of the activities organized annually by the school in coordination with the War Veterans Association of the commune to educate generations of students about revolutionary traditions.
Generations in Khanh Hai today are always proud to be born and raised in a land rich in revolutionary traditions, the homeland of Bang Nhan Vu Duy Thanh. Mai Hong Huong, a student at Vu Duy Thanh Secondary School, said: Being able to participate in offering incense and learning about the life, background, and career of the famous Vu Duy Thanh, I feel very honored and proud. I vow to study hard, strive to become a good child, a good student, and contribute my youth to my homeland.
In recent times, the Association of War Veterans of Khanh Hai Commune has always coordinated with the Youth Union of the Commune to develop plans to implement revolutionary traditions education for the younger generation according to topics with rich and diverse forms, especially organizing traditional talks for students on major holidays of the homeland and the country such as: Vietnam People's Army Founding Day, Vietnam Communist Party Founding Day... At the same time, constantly innovating the content and methods of education, in which, focusing on organizing training classes, exchanges and direct dialogues with the participation of local war veterans. Vivid stories, memories of the heroic sacrifices of heroic martyrs through the stories of war veterans have helped students understand more about the history and revolutionary traditions of the nation.
Clearly identifying the importance of educating revolutionary traditions for the young generation, the Association of War Veterans of Yen Khanh district focuses on coordinating with departments, branches and organizations to implement Directive 42 of the Central Party Secretariat on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in educating and fostering revolutionary ideals, ethics and cultural lifestyles for the young generation in the period of 2015-2030", actively contributing to fostering revolutionary ideals and heroism for union members and young people, helping the young generation to correctly understand, be proud of and appreciate the revolutionary traditions of the Party and the nation.
The Association has developed programs and contents in coordination with the Youth Union at the same level to educate the younger generation about revolutionary traditions; on traditional days and major anniversaries of the country and locality, the Association of War Veterans at all levels has assigned outstanding war veterans to exchange and talk with young people and students; coordinated to organize the renovation of martyrs' cemeteries and martyrs' memorials...

On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023), the Association organized a "Meeting with historical witnesses" and an exchange on "Memories of soldiers" with the participation of 1,900 union members, youth and students. The Association also coordinated to introduce 57 outstanding union members to the Party organization for consideration before joining the army; propagated and mobilized 250 young people to join the army, completing 100% of the target; organized visits and presented gifts to 250 young people leaving for the army in 2023 with an amount of 75 million VND; organized reception, consultation and job introduction for 229 soldiers who completed their military service and returned to their localities; and educated more than 6,700 students on traditions.
Every year, before each military recruitment, the District Veterans Association coordinates to propagate the Law on Military Service among union members and youth; encouraging young people to enthusiastically volunteer to join the army, build the army, and protect the Fatherland. Therefore, all localities ensure 100% of the assigned targets, among which many young people who strive well are sent for training to serve long-term in the army, and the number of soldiers returning to their hometowns all participate in Association activities, Youth Union activities, and participate in veteran clubs.
Recently, the District Veterans Association coordinated with the District Military Command and the District Youth Union to organize a talk show "Fueling Tradition", propagating the Law on Military Service and giving gifts to young people who volunteered to join the army in 2024 with guests being veterans, cadres, soldiers and outstanding union members and young people. Through the talk show, the Organizing Committee hopes that today's young generation will continue to inherit the good traditions of their ancestors and the nation, regularly study and cultivate to contribute more to society...
Comrade Pham Thanh Nam, Chairman of the Association of War Veterans in Yen Khanh district, said: Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, the Association of War Veterans at all levels in the district will focus on implementing propaganda work, educating ethics, revolutionary ideals as well as patriotic traditions for the younger generation in a focused, key direction, with consistent themes, suitable for each stage. Besides educating traditions and patriotism, we will coordinate so that youth activities are closely related to real life, thereby arousing the creative will and aspirations of young people in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
