On the morning of June 26, in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, the Vietnam People's Naval Academy and the Royal Cambodian Naval Academy held a twinning signing ceremony.
Attending the signing ceremony were Rear Admiral, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Lam, Director of the Vietnam People's Naval Academy; Vice Admiral Non Sophat, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Royal Cambodian Navy; Rear Admiral Cheung Chhay, Director of the Royal Cambodian Naval Academy; representatives of the Vietnam People's Navy and leaders, commanders and key officers of the two academies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rear Admiral, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Lam, Director of the Naval Academy emphasized: Over the 56 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia (June 24, 1967/June 24, 2023), the friendship and cooperation between the two Parties, States, Peoples and Armies of the two countries have been closely linked, contributing significantly to consolidating peace, stability, cooperation and development. Every year, Vietnam and Cambodia have awarded each other hundreds of long-term and short-term scholarships. The Vietnam People's Naval Academy alone has trained and fostered thousands of officers and soldiers for the Royal Cambodian Navy. These are concrete and meaningful actions of the friendship between the two armies and two close neighboring countries.

The Director of the Naval Academy also suggested that in the coming time, in order to deepen and effectively carry out cooperation activities, the two sides will strengthen education, raise awareness among cadres, students, soldiers and people about the special solidarity and friendship between the two countries and peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia; strengthen cooperation in the field of education and training; exchange delegations, expertise and naval scientific research.
Vice Admiral Non Sophat, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Royal Cambodian Navy, sincerely thanked the wholehearted and profound support of the Party, State, People and People's Army of Vietnam in the past, as well as in the present period, and hoped that in the future, the Vietnam People's Naval Academy would strengthen cooperation and support in all aspects to build the Royal Cambodian Naval Academy stronger and stronger.
At the ceremony, the Vietnam People's Naval Academy and the Royal Cambodian Naval Academy signed a memorandum of understanding. The Vietnam People's Naval Academy also presented some office equipment to the Royal Cambodian Naval Academy.
