The Young Wave Journalism Award is an annual award organized by the Academy of Journalism and Communication to motivate and encourage journalism students to actively practice and create valuable journalistic works right from their school days.
The organizing committee of the 2024 Youth Wave Journalism Award received nearly 500 works from authors and groups of authors from many faculties and units at the Academy, 1.5 times more than in 2023.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Minh Son, Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication said: "The Young Wave Journalism Award is one of the important events, contributing to affirming the Academy's brand; is an intellectual and useful playground, motivating students to actively study, practice and be creative...".
This year, the award includes the following categories: television, radio, print, online, young film, media, interactive; an increase of 2 categories compared to last year.
According to the Organizing Committee, this year's entries are of good quality with rich and diverse topics; related to current events of the capital, the country as well as issues of interest to young people, students and pupils. The form of expression of the works is vivid and modern in a multimedia way. In general, the works convey clear messages, have in-depth investment and demonstrate the responsibility and courage of journalists and media workers.
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded First, Second and Third prizes to authors and groups of authors with excellent works.
At the program, sponsors and press and media units, including Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper, also awarded valuable scholarships to new students with the highest admission scores in 2024 and the most outstanding students of the 2023-2024 school year.
In the next part - IJC Festival, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Truong Giang, Deputy Director of the Academy shared: IJC Festival 2024 is a program organized by the Institute of Journalism and Communication (Academy of Journalism and Communication) to welcome new students to the common home of the Academy.
This year's event has special significance, marking a new beginning for the merger between the Faculty of Radio and Television and the Institute of Journalism.
With a larger scale than every year, IJC Festival 2024 will bring valuable experiences, helping new students get acquainted with the new environment, enrich their knowledge and improve themselves.
“The IJC Festival 2024: Primotry music night is full of creativity and enthusiasm, clearly showing the identity of students of the Institute of Journalism and Communication; it is a good start for the new students of K44 in the 4 years of university ahead.
“Hopefully in the new environment, students will have a happy time with lots of joy with teachers and friends,” Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Truong Giang said.
