In which, the combined admission method divides candidates into three groups.
The first and second groups combine international certificates with graduation exam scores or school records. Acceptable certificates include IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 50, HSK4, TCF 400, DELF B2; SAT 1000, ACT 20 or higher. Certificate scores will be converted and combined with Math scores and one of the following subjects: Literature, Physics, Chemistry for admission consideration.
The third group combines excellent student awards (third prize at provincial level or higher) with graduation exam scores. The admission score is the sum of three exam subjects plus bonus points (1-5 points), depending on the award level, converted to a 30-point scale.
The expected minimum score for the transcript review method is 25, for the transcript review method combined with international certificates it is 21; the remaining 20 points.

This year, the Academy of Journalism and Communication will maintain stable admission methods and admission quotas compared to 2023. The school will enroll 2,400 students (an increase of 100 students compared to last year), including 2,050 regular university students for the first university degree; 350 regular university students for the second university degree.
The Academy enrolls students in 3 ways: considering academic records (15% of the target); considering combined admission with English certificates (from 6.5 or higher), SAT certificates (from 1200/1600 or higher) and academic records of 5 semesters (except semester II of grade 12) of 7.0 or higher (15% of the target); considering high school graduation exam results (70% of the target).
When applying to the academy, candidates need to carefully read the threshold to ensure the entrance conditions as well as the conditions for initial admission. Each admission group, the academy has its own conditions. For example, candidates applying for majors/specializations in training political theory lecturers must meet the requirement of not stuttering or lisping.
Candidates for the Television Filming major must be in good health, free of eye diseases or defects, and have a suitable appearance. After being admitted, the Academy will organize a health check for students. If students do not meet the health requirements for the Television Filming major, they will be transferred to another equivalent major at the Academy.
The Academy also has additional criteria for admission. For majors with coefficient subjects, priority is given to candidates whose original total score of 3 subjects/combinations has not been multiplied by the coefficient, has not been added with priority points, incentive points, or rounded. For the remaining majors, priority is given to candidates with higher high school graduation exam results in Mathematics.
