In the women's 10m air pistol event of the world championship held on August 17, there were 130 shooters participating. The Vietnamese shooting team had two representatives, Trinh Thu Vinh and Nguyen Thu Trang.

After the qualifying round, Trinh Thu Vinh excellently ranked 5th to enter the final round. While shooter Thu Trang only ranked 47th.
In the final round, despite playing very hard, former shooter Hoang Xuan Vinh's students only ranked 5th overall with 175 points.
Meanwhile, shooter Ranxin Jiang of the Chinese shooting team won the championship. Following closely behind were shooters Anna Korakaki (Greece) and Xue Li (China).
However, with this result, Thu Vinh has become the second Vietnamese athlete to have a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics, after Nguyen Thi That in cycling.
The 23-year-old female shooter is a student of coach Hoang Xuan Vinh. In addition, she was also trained by coach Nguyen Thi Nhung and expert Park Chung-gun.
Right from the time Thu Vinh was still playing for the Ministry of Public Security, the 2016 Olympic champion, Hoang Xuan Vinh, discovered her talent and brought her to the national team.
After only a short period of training, Trinh Thu Vinh's performance has improved significantly.
Thu Vinh was then included in the key athlete group by expert Park Chung-gun to prepare for the 2024 Olympics.
Returning to the World Shooting Championship, on August 18, the Vietnamese shooting team continued to compete in 2 events.
In the 10m air pistol mixed team event, Trinh Thu Vinh - Pham Quang Huy and Nguyen Thu Trang - Lai Cong Minh will be the representatives of Vietnam competing in this event.
Two shooters Le Thi Mong Tuyen and Nguyen Thanh Nam will compete in the 10m air rifle mixed team event.
The 2023 World Shooting Championship will be the tournament used to award the 2024 Paris Olympics.
This year, the tournament took place in the capital Baku (Azerbaijan) with the participation of more than 1,200 shooters from 101 countries and territories around the world in pistol, rifle, and flying saucer events for men and women.
