(Dan Tri) - Adjusting the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule for students from 9 to 11 days, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City noted that schools should create conditions for students living far away.
Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu has just issued a document guiding the adjustment of the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday for students.
In particular, the Department of Education and Training officially announced the adjustment of the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule for preschool education, general education and continuing education in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Tet holiday for students in Ho Chi Minh City will start from January 23 to February 2, 2025 (ie from December 24 to January 5).

In particular, in the Tet holiday schedule instructions, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu emphasized that heads of educational institutions must proactively develop their units' educational plans based on the principle of ensuring sufficient teaching and learning time, testing, evaluation and completion of the school's educational plan in the 2024-2025 school year according to regulations.
Schools need to create favorable conditions and resolve issues reasonably and equitably for students not residing in Ho Chi Minh City during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee agreed to allow students in Ho Chi Minh City to have 2 more days off for Tet compared to the original plan, extending the Tet holiday to 11 days. Students will start their Tet holiday from January 23, 2025, instead of the original plan of January 23, 2025.
With the above adjustment, many opinions say that Ho Chi Minh City's increase in vacation time before Tet has not solved the problem of students having more time off for Tet.
Because before Tet, families are busy preparing for Tet. Many students living far away can only celebrate Tet around the 3rd or 4th of January before having to rush back to the city to go to school.
