Contribute to support flood victims by performing arts everywhere

Seeing the children in the flooded area facing many difficulties, the children in Thu Duc Kids - the art team of Thu Duc Children's House (HCMC) decided to break their piggy bank and use the money to perform to help their friends.

Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thuy (manager of the art team) said that on September 12, seeing the serious situation of storms, floods, and landslides occurring in the northern provinces, causing much loss and pain, many children and parents asked Ms. Thuy if her team could do anything.

Ms. Thuy hesitated for a moment, then went to the group chat to ask for opinions on withdrawing 2 million VND from the team fund to support and give strength to the people in the flooded areas. Very quickly, this message was liked and hearted by parents and children.

To raise funds for this team, the children have been running around performing everywhere. However, instead of using the money to celebrate or buy fried chicken, they still agreed to donate it to help the children and the people in the flood-affected areas who are facing difficulties due to natural disasters.

"In addition to the 2 million VND transferred above, the children also took an additional 1 million VND from their performance fee and put it in an envelope to send directly to the Fatherland Front. In the recent Mid-Autumn Festival performance, each child received a salary of 50,000 VND. Many children told me that tomorrow morning they will take this money to go to school to contribute to the flood relief fund," said Ms. Thuy.

Member Huynh Nguyen Ngoc Diep (8th grade student at Hoa Lu Secondary School, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) excitedly said: "On September 14, I will get 50,000 VND for performing. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, I will also have 2-3 shows. I will take all this money along with my pocket money to send to the school to give to students in flood-affected areas."

Diep said she has been in the art team for nearly 8 years. The art team helps her develop her passion, improve her health, and love singing, dancing, etc. The team members see the dedication of the teachers in calling on the children to support the people in the flood-hit areas.

"I watched TV and saw people losing so much property and people, so I wanted to contribute a little to help them improve their lives," she shared.

Support flood victims by selling sandwiches

Nguyen Minh Dang Duong (8th grade, Nam Trung Yen Secondary School, Hanoi) donated 500,000 VND from the profit from selling sandwiches this summer to support people in flood-affected areas.

Dang Duong said that last summer he sold sandwiches in the lobby of his apartment building to earn money to buy books for the new school year. Every day, he woke up at 5am to prepare sandwiches, fry eggs, boil sausages, etc. Then, Duong sold sandwiches until almost 9am. During the 27 days of selling, Duong's sandwich shop was supported by many people. The boy earned a fair amount of money.

Hearing that people in the flood area were lacking food and having difficulty traveling, Dang Duong decided to donate a portion of his money. Seeing his son quietly put the envelope in, Linh (his mother) took a photo. However, Duong did not let his mother post the photo, saying: "Charity, why flex?" Duong's mother said that thanks to that, many customers of the sandwich shop found out, they praised the boy for being cute, and promised to continue supporting the shop next summer.

"I hope you will be very happy"

And little Vo Xuan Nghi (grade 4, Le Lai Primary School, Da Nang) touched netizens when he donated a pile of small change, totaling 360,000 VND, to people in flood-hit areas.

Xuan Nghi said that during the past summer, she collected cans, cardboard boxes, etc. to sell, so she saved some money. Not to mention, in the swimming competition in the city, she won 2 third prizes. Each prize was worth 100,000 VND.

"I treasure this money very much, no one is allowed to touch it. Before that, I took out some money to buy school supplies. I decided to send the remaining money to the school to support students in flood-affected areas after hearing the teachers' appeal," said Xuan Nghi.

The house sells yogurt, so there is often small waste. Instead of throwing it away, the child asked his mother to collect it to sell as scrap. He always saves every penny to buy school supplies, buy birthday gifts for friends... However, when he saw the news about his friends in the flood-affected areas facing difficulties, he donated all his money.

Recently, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front released a statement of support for people affected by storm No. 3. Netizens quickly checked VAR for these special statements. Among them, there were indispensable donations from students. Although the amount of money was not much, when reading the lines "Students transfer money to support people", "I am a student and don't have much"... many people's eyes were filled with tears.
