The opening ceremony also did not have any performances as usual. After the flag-raising ceremony, all staff, lecturers and students observed a minute of silence to remember those who died in the floods.
Right at the opening ceremony, Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of Ton Duc Thang University, launched a campaign to support people in areas heavily affected by super typhoon Yagi and floods.
“With a sense of responsibility and the whole country's support for the provinces and cities in the Northern region, which are being severely affected and damaged by storm No. 3, Ton Duc Thang University is actively implementing mobilization activities and making contributions to practically provide material and spiritual support to share the difficulties of our compatriots affected by natural disasters and floods. We sincerely thank our partners and businesses for accompanying the school's call for this meaningful and humane activity,” said Mr. Dao.
Looking back on the past school year, Mr. Dao said that the school has achieved many achievements in training as well as scientific research. The school maintains a training scale of more than 26,000 students at all levels with 40 majors and majors. Last school year, the school also awarded graduation certificates to nearly 7,000 students. Of which, 9.33% graduated with honors and excellent grades, and 61% graduated with good grades.
However, according to Mr. Dao, besides 18.53% of students classified as excellent and good and 35% classified as fair, some faculties still have about 3-5% of students being warned or reminded about academic performance due to poor academic results.

Regarding scientific research activities, the school has published 675 WoS/Scopus articles, conducted technology transfer research with 80 topics/projects, of which 43 topics/projects have content related to the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations, 13 international topics, 10 transfer topics/projects with student participation...
According to Mr. Dao, Ton Duc Thang University will continue to move towards the goal of developing into a research university, sustainably developing scientific research activities in a substantive and sustainable direction, and developing international cooperation activities to a new role and position; The university will also implement the university's comprehensive digital transformation project, continue to strengthen the conditions for quality assurance and quality management of the university.
