The first 7-a-side football tournament for women will be held in November, with the hope of laying the foundation to gradually build a "street" playground for women's football and be a new milestone in the journey of developing 7-a-side football in Vietnam.
The tournament aims to create more prestigious playgrounds for female players, especially with the popular 7-a-side football to help the women's football movement continue to spread widely, creating the potential to attract more attention and investment.

Although the tournament was organized for the first time, it gathered 8 strong teams from many provinces and cities across the country from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Ben Tre, including the teams: Pedagogical Students (Hanoi Pedagogical University), Kun Lady, Que Lua, Paint Khang Cat, Phu Dong Ben Tre, DNU (Dai Nam University), NEU (National Economics University) and UPES1 (Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports).
Notably, two Vietnamese national players, Hoang Thi Loan and Nguyen Thanh Nha, also participated in the tournament in the Que Lua Club jersey.
In the first season, the organizers hope to promote the meaning and role in spreading the spirit of loving football, contributing a small part in building, developing and improving the lives of Vietnamese women's football.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan, General Director of Vietfootball Joint Stock Company, head of the tournament organizing committee, expects WVPL-S1 to be a top 7-a-side football playground for women, thereby spreading and promoting the development of women's football movement in Vietnam, creating more playgrounds, attracting the attention of audiences, the media and stronger social investment in women's football.
Deputy Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Training Le Thi Hoang Yen said that the tournament will create another quality football playground for women, and expressed her hope that this will be one of the environments contributing to the development of women's football, promoting the movement and finding "rough diamonds" to polish in a professional environment. From there, Vietnamese women's football in general and the Vietnamese women's team in particular will have more quality options.
The tournament will take place from November 9 to November 7 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
