Speaking with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter, Master Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Head of Communications Department of International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University), confirmed the information that Miss World Vietnam Huynh Tran Y Nhi went to Australia to study.

Specifically, Master Bich Ngoc said: "Student Huynh Tran Y Nhi is studying the 2+2 joint program in business administration between the International University and the University of Sydney (Australia). Nhi has completed the first phase of the program in Vietnam and transferred to the partner school in Australia to continue studying the second phase of the program. This is the program that Nhi registered to study from the first days she chose the International University. Nhi's completion of phase 1 and successful transfer to the partner school in phase 2 are all within Nhi's plan and curriculum at the school."

For more information about the school that Ý Nhi will attend, Master Bich Ngoc said that the University of Sydney is ranked 19th in the world and 2nd in Australia (according to the QS Rankings 2024). The Business Administration major that Ý Nhi chose to study is in the top 50 in the world and has been accredited by 3 leading organizations: AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

Miss received scholarship equivalent to 20,000 AUD

Regarding the beauty queen's study situation, the representative of the International University added: "When Nhi completed her period in Vietnam, her average score was in the group of good students and she had a very good profile. Nhi was very active in movement activities and participated in the school's clubs and teams, so she was awarded a 20% scholarship for the second period of tuition in Australia by the partner school. The tuition fee is equivalent to 20,000 AUD (about 310 million VND). This is one of the honors of students studying the joint program when transferring."

Regarding English, according to the school representative, at the time of admission, Nhi was not qualified to immediately study the major program, so she was placed in the intensive English program in the first semester. However, after a period of effort, Nhi was able to keep up with her friends' learning progress, her English also improved, enough to transfer to phase 2 at the University of Sydney.

"According to the plan and curriculum, if all goes well, Nhi will complete phase 2 of the study program in Australia in the next 2-3 years, depending on the number of credits Nhi registers for," Master Bich Ngoc added.

Y Nhi is 21 years old this year, 1.75m tall, a student majoring in business administration at the International University. The girl from Binh Dinh won the Miss World Vietnam contest in July 2023.

Although highly regarded for her beauty and education, after being crowned, the beauty continuously encountered controversy over her statements, typically sharing about her boyfriend or the incident of "naming 3 famous people in Binh Dinh". The incident caused Y Nhi to receive a wave of criticism, many people even joined the boycott group, requesting to strip the crown of the beauty born in 2002. In response to netizens' reactions, Miss Y Nhi once apologized, saying that she had seriously acknowledged her shortcomings.

Sharing before going to study abroad, Miss Ý Nhi said that what made her extremely happy was that she had fulfilled her wishes, her previous promises to donate all the prize money from the Miss World Vietnam contest to charity activities, as well as contribute to the scholarship funds of 3 newspapers: Tiền Phong, Thanh Niên, and Tuổi Trẻ . In the future, she said she will continue to carry out charity projects based on her abilities and conditions.
