Support investment promotion and trade of digital technology products Make in Vietnam

The Ministry of Information and Communications has just signed a cooperation agreement with VCCI on supporting investment promotion and trade of Make in Vietnam digital technology products.

Digital transformation is an important task. In order to serve digital transformation, develop the digital economy and digital society in the period of 2024-2026, with a vision to 2030, on the afternoon of July 30, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Information and Communications signed a cooperation agreement with the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on supporting investment promotion and trade of Make in Vietnam digital technology products. More than 100 delegates, leaders of digital technology enterprises and business associations, attended the event.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Pham Tan Cong - Chairman of VCCI said: The 13th National Congress of the Party has set out the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country with the goal of Vietnam becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045. To achieve this goal, the 13th National Congress Documents of the Party have also identified national digital transformation as an important task, and associated with 3 main pillars: Digital Government, digital economy and digital society. Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW issued by the Politburo on October 10, 2023 on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period has set the goal by 2030: Developing a Vietnamese entrepreneur team with the scale, capacity and qualifications to meet the goals of industrialization and modernization of the country. Striving to have more and more enterprises reaching regional level, some enterprises reaching world level; A number of large enterprises have a leading role in key industries and fields; ... have the capacity to compete internationally in basic, priority, and spearhead industries. Resolution 41-NQ/TW also sets out the task of developing national enterprises and large-scale enterprises that have a leading role in a number of key and important industries and fields. “The development and growth of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises is of great significance, contributing to the implementation of the national digital transformation task in the Documents of the 13th National Party Congress, while contributing to the realization of the goal of developing a team of entrepreneurs and enterprises set out in Resolution 41 of the Politburo. Vietnamese digital technology enterprises are also one of the important groups of national enterprises that need to be promoted and supported in the context that the whole country is carrying out the national digital transformation, developing the digital economy and digital society” - the Chairman of VCCI affirmed and said that the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Information and Communications and VCCI is also to carry out the task assigned by the Prime Minister to VCCI, the Ministry of Information and Communications in Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 14, 2020 of the Prime Minister on promoting the development of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises. According to this Directive, VCCI and professional associations will coordinate with the Ministry of Information and Communications in: Developing a project to propagate, disseminate, and raise awareness of the development of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises; researching and evaluating the development environment of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises annually; promoting the movement "Vietnamese goods conquer Vietnamese people", focusing on products, solutions and services of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises.

At the same time, preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to commend typical Vietnamese digital technology enterprises that have effectively implemented the "Make in Vietnam" strategy and organize investment promotion activities, trade promotion, promote domestic consumption and support exports for products, services, solutions and business models of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises.

VCCI supports businesses in deploying digital technology products Make in Vietnam Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich - Director of the Department of ICT Technology - Ministry of Information and Communications said: The cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Information and Communications and VCCI focuses on 3 main contents. Firstly , consulting, advising on building strategies, digital transformation plans, development policy environment. In which, the Ministry of Information and Communications will advise and support the development of strategies, plans, and digital transformation programs for VCCI. VCCI will propose solutions on the environment, policies to create and support the market for Vietnamese digital technology enterprises. Secondly, supporting trade promotion, investment in digital technology products, solutions, and services Make in Vietnam to serve digital transformation, develop the digital economy and digital society for the domestic market. In particular, activities such as propaganda, investigation, survey of digital transformation needs of enterprises, trade promotion conferences, supply-demand connection will be implemented... In particular, according to Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich, there will be content: "selecting and ordering 10 typical Make in Vietnam digital technology products, solutions, and services in 10 fields for pilot implementation to serve digital transformation at VCCI and member enterprises, in order to evaluate, replicate, and deploy products that bring practical effects to people and businesses... ". Third , supporting market development, investing in foreign markets for Make in Vietnam digital technology products. In particular, a number of activities will be implemented such as supporting registration and protection of intellectual property rights and technology transfer abroad; connecting and introducing trade partners, providing information, guidance, consulting for businesses and trade and investment promotion activities abroad. VCCI leaders assessed that the cooperation agreement on supporting investment promotion and trade of Make in Vietnam digital technology products is of great significance in supporting Vietnamese digital technology enterprises to expand their markets and exploit investment and business opportunities domestically and abroad through a market of 200,000 enterprises operating in all industries and economic sectors of Vietnam and the VCCI's partner network around the world and the Ministry of Information and Communications, contributing to promoting digital transformation, digital economy and digital society in Vietnam strongly and effectively.

VCCI Chairman Pham Tan Cong said: The 7th VCCI National Congress has set out the vision of building "Strong Enterprises - Prosperous Nation" as the orientation and strategic goal in the activities of VCCI and the Vietnamese business community in the coming time. The Congress also set out 6 key tasks and solutions, 3 strategic breakthroughs, of which "Promoting support for businesses to implement digital transformation, apply technology, innovate strategies and business models" is identified as one of the 3 strategic breakthroughs of VCCI in the 2021-2026 term. Therefore, in the coming time, VCCI is ready to support connecting business associations and the Vietnamese business community to deploy Make in Vietnam digital technology products, in order to improve competitiveness, improve business performance to meet the requirements of promoting digital transformation, developing the digital economy and digital society. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Information and Communications, as a specialized management agency, will gather, guide, and create an environment to promote Vietnamese digital technology enterprises to have high-quality Make in Vietnam products to be ready to support the business community in applying digital transformation.

To ensure the effectiveness of the cooperation agreement signed between the Ministry of Information and Communications and VCCI, within the framework of the event, VCCI leaders signed a cooperation agreement to promote digital transformation with leaders of 6 typical enterprises, including: Viettel, VNPT, Mobifone, FPT, CMC and MISA.
