(NLDO) - "Ho Do 2024" ended with the biggest historic "Rock Marathon" music night in Vietnam in the past decade.
The start of "Ho Do 2024" was not smooth due to the weather.
The closing night with the theme "Rock Marathon by HOZO" took place on the evening of December 15, bringing the 4th Ho Chi Minh City International Music Festival - Ho Do 2024 (HOZO 2024) to a close. After more than a decade since the golden age of Vietnamese rock, when this music genre was on the decline, Rock Marathon by HOZO appeared and became an event marking the strong revival of rock.
With the participation of tens of thousands of audiences, the music night not only brought passionate performances, but also created a historical milestone for rock music, becoming the largest event of this genre in the past 10 years, through which the organizers hope to contribute to bringing Vietnamese rock back to the center of the contemporary music flow.
As the biggest rock event in over a decade, "Rock Marathon by HOZO" makes its mark with the convergence of legends and promising young talents.
The Wall and Pham Anh Khoa, as headliners, delivered impressive performances, recreating the heroic spirit of the golden age. Hai Bot and The Farmers left their mark with powerful melodies, blending the characteristic dustiness and emotional style.
Ngu Cung, with the endurance and class of a monument, continues to stir up the stage with energetic performances, affirming its position in the hearts of the audience.
Despite the rain, audiences still came to attend the unique music festival in Ho Chi Minh City.
Along with the big names, the younger generation of artists such as Chilies, Simile Land, Can't Be Blue, Monocycle, and Mun Go brought a new breeze, conveying a modern breath while still keeping the original spirit of rock intact. The combination of generations enriched the color of the concert, and at the same time opened up bright prospects for this music genre in Vietnam.
According to the organizers, the 3 days of HOZO Super Fest welcomed about 200,000 audiences to immerse themselves in the festival atmosphere. Not only did it bring a top-notch music space, the event has grown to become a global cultural intersection, portraying the image of Ho Chi Minh City as a proud new cultural symbol, while affirming the city's solid position on the regional cultural and artistic map.
Audience happy, artists happy to have a world-class music festival
Musician Huy Tuan (general director of the program) shared: "We do not only bring a simple music festival, but also build meaningful forums, where young talents, international experts, and professionals have the opportunity to meet, exchange and together seek new directions.
This is an important step to raise the level of professionalism in the performance field, contributing to shaping and developing the cultural industry. Those values go far beyond the limits of a music event and are the mission that Ho Do always pursues and constantly strives for."
Ho Do is currently the only international community music event in Vietnam, standing out with its dedication spirit as it is completely free for the audience. For 3 consecutive days, the festival took place vibrantly with two stages operating at full capacity, gathering more than 250 talented artists from all over the world, spanning from Vietnam to Asia, Africa, Europe and America.
The event is not only a colorful music party, but also a place to connect global cultures in an emotional space.
Ho Do is organized by the Organizing Committee for Celebrating Major Holidays in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Light Music Center and Beyond Communication Joint Stock Company.
The event aims to build an international cultural and artistic brand for Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to stimulating tourism, attracting international visitors and promoting the development of the cultural industry according to the strategy towards 2030.
