The organizers of the match between Vietnam and Hong Kong (China) suddenly announced the cancellation of the press conference of coach Philippe Troussier. The media officer of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) did not give a reason.
At the end of the match at Lach Tray Stadium, the Vietnamese team won against Hong Kong (China) with a score of 1-0 thanks to a goal by Que Ngoc Hai. The home team's captain successfully converted a penalty kick in the first half after Nguyen Quang Hai was fouled by his opponent.
Que Ngoc Hai scored to help the Vietnamese team win the match.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong (China) coach Jorn Andersen still attended the press conference after the match. The German coach clearly expressed his dissatisfaction with the penalty that led to the loss to the Vietnamese team.
"I was angry when the penalty was awarded because I didn't think it was a foul. The referee decided the outcome of this match," said coach Andersen.
Coach Andersen answered in the post-match press conference.
Besides, Mr. Andersen was satisfied with the performance of his students. According to the German coach, Hong Kong did not start well in the first period but then pressed and made Van Lam's goal shake twice.
"I am satisfied with the team's performance today. I tried to pick the best players and give them a chance to show their skills. We created many chances but did not convert them into goals. This is not a problem that can be solved overnight. We need to improve step by step in the future," the head coach of Hong Kong (China) added.
After the match with Hong Kong, the Vietnamese team will stay in Hai Phong to train. Coach Troussier will wait for the Vietnamese team's reserve team to join the team and play against Hai Phong FC on June 17. After that, the French coach will filter the players again to choose the best squad to face Syria on June 20.
