The Vietnamese women's team lost 0-2 to New Zealand in a friendly match that took place at noon on July 10.
Huynh Nhu was closely marked in the match against New Zealand.
After the match, coach Mai Duc Chung pointed out the weaknesses that Huynh Nhu and her teammates must overcome before entering the 2023 World Cup.
“In my opinion, all the players played their best. However, their movements were still heavy and not smooth,” said coach Mai Duc Chung.
In this match, New Zealand showed superiority in physique and speed compared to the Vietnamese women's team.
However, coach Mai Duc Chung said that the physical condition of the Vietnamese women's team has improved a lot recently.
“After this match, I will make adjustments so that the players are faster and their movements must be faster.
In addition, the ability to pass the ball is not good and needs to be improved. The physical strength of the players is what makes me most satisfied," the 72-year-old coach continued.
Commenting on the two goals conceded by the Vietnamese women's team, Mr. Chung said: "In the first half, the players were a bit confused, so it was quite easy for New Zealand to score two goals.
In the first goal, Thu Thao did not clear the ball decisively, leading to a missed kick and Kim Thanh not having time to react.
In the second situation, the defenders did not follow the opponent closely, leading to a goal conceded.
Meanwhile, captain Huynh Nhu revealed that the weather had a negative impact on the Vietnamese women's team in this match.
“When the Vietnamese women's team came here, the weather affected the whole team because there was a big difference in temperature.
This is a match for us to adapt and get used to the weather, as well as the pace of the match," Huynh Nhu shared.
On July 15, the Vietnamese women's team will have a friendly match with Spain before entering the group stage of the 2023 World Cup.
