Coach Carlo Ancelotti and Luka Modric respect Man City's collective strength

Before the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Man City, coach Carlo Ancelotti declared that Real Madrid is completely confident even though their opponent is a team with many outstanding stars.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti shared at a press conference before the second leg of the Champions League semi-final at Etihad Stadium, which will take place early tomorrow morning (2am, May 18):

"We respect our opponents, they are a great team, not just one individual. We are not only worried about dealing with Erling Haaland, but also other names like De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez. This is a very difficult match."

In the first leg, Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw by Man City despite opening the scoring first. However, the Bernabeu team did a great job of containing "killer" Erling Haaland in that match. The Norwegian striker was even given a 3/10 rating by French newspaper L'Equipe after the match.

However, Erling Haaland is having a historic season with 52 goals for Man City in all competitions and is ready to "open fire" when playing at home in the second leg.

"Courage and character will be important, because the pressure in the second leg will be very high. Our players have to show their qualities. If you are not confident in controlling the ball, the game will tilt in the opponent's favor.

Meanwhile, midfielder Luka Modric expressed confidence ahead of this "do-or-die" match.

"It's a big game... and we feel comfortable going into it. We like the Champions League, because it's our competition.

The feeling is a comfort in these matches and that is why we have won so many times because the confidence in ourselves is huge. We believe in our quality. We will give 100%," Luka Modric affirmed.

Asked if Man City were better this season than last, the Croatian midfielder added: "In the first leg, they played better. But we have grown in every game. We even opened the scoring but were held to a 1-1 draw.

We knew that this draw meant that things would not be decided in the first leg. And now we are here. We feel good for something that is 50-50 and it will be decided by small details. We have to be focused and united," added Luka Modric.
