On December 12, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang attended the Conference to announce the Planning and Investment Promotion of Hau Giang province.

According to the plan, by 2030, Hau Giang aims to become a fairly industrial province in the Mekong Delta region; with a synchronous system of technical infrastructure and social infrastructure; with dynamic economic, industrial and modern urban areas...

By 2050, Hau Giang will be a province with a fairly developed level in the country, the center of industrial production and logistics in the Mekong Delta; cultural and social fields will develop comprehensively, the living environment will be clean, and it will proactively adapt to climate change.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dong Van Thanh said that the key task and breakthrough development of the locality in the coming time is "One center, two routes, three cities, four pillars, five key tasks".

One focus: Developing Chau Thanh district to become the industrial and urban center of the province.

Two routes: Develop two key corridor routes: Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway connecting with Ho Chi Minh City and Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway connecting with the provinces south of Hau River. Forming a key economic corridor of the province.

Three cities: Develop and upgrade the urban centers of the province, including Vi Thanh City, Nga Bay City and Long My Town; in which, Vi Thanh City is the political, economic, cultural and social center of the province.

Four pillars: Modern industry, ecological agriculture, smart cities and quality tourism.

Five key tasks: Perfecting institutions and policies; developing quality human resources to serve all sectors; administrative reform, improving the investment and business environment, enhancing competitiveness; perfecting infrastructure, especially transport and industrial infrastructure; developing culture and society, improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

At the conference, 12 projects were granted investment policies and investment certificates worth 19,000 billion VND (Project to expand General Hospital No. 10 with a total investment of more than 400 billion VND; Project to build an inter-level school worth 261 billion VND...).

At the same time, 8 investment memorandums of understanding were signed with a total value of 220,000 billion VND and 2 cooperation memorandums of understanding (10-hectare logistics warehouse project with a total investment of 500 billion VND; 10-hectare industrial gas factory investment project with a total investment of 500 billion VND).

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang acknowledged that Hau Giang province has made great changes, with its economic growth rate ranking second in the country (GRDP reaching 12.27%, up 2 places compared to 2022, continuing to lead the Mekong Delta region), synchronous traffic infrastructure works...

The Deputy Prime Minister said that Hau Giang has never had such a great opportunity as it does now, as the province will be the intersection of three major highway projects through the Mekong Delta; has a team of officials capable of continuing tradition, with the ability to innovate thinking and working methods to create breakthroughs; and has large agricultural output while agricultural prices are increasing.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the planning approved by the Prime Minister clearly indicated the development orientation and tasks to be implemented. The implementation process must ensure compliance with the planning but not be rigid, ensuring synchronization with other planning; focusing on promoting the planning to people and businesses to create consensus, cooperation and contribution when implementing specific works and projects.
