With the spirit of volunteerism and enthusiasm of youth, doctors and nurses have carried out many practical activities to contribute to caring for and protecting people's health at the "Journey of Young Doctors following Uncle Ho's teachings, volunteering for community health in 2023".
At the "Journey of Young Doctors following Uncle Ho's teachings, volunteering for community health" this year, the Provincial Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union of the province coordinated with doctors and medical staff from the Provincial Young Doctors Association to examine, treat and give free medicine to people in difficult circumstances, ethnic minorities, the elderly, and families with meritorious services to the revolution in Da Kai commune, Duc Linh district. Coming to Da Kai commune, despite many difficulties, when the delegation arrived, the people welcomed them with sincerity and excitement. They arrived very early to be examined, consulted on health, how to recognize and prevent diseases. Although it was a small action, it helped the young doctors feel the value of the work they were doing and wanted to contribute more to help people access voluntary medical examination and treatment activities.
According to Mr. Thai Thanh Bi - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union, "The journey of young doctors following Uncle Ho's teachings, volunteering for community health" is a typical activity of the movement of volunteering for community life, organized by the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union, attracting a large number of young doctors, nurses and doctors to volunteer. This year, with the theme "Young doctors pioneering in digital transformation, volunteering for community health", the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union enthusiastically organized many activities such as on May 17, they coordinated with the Young Doctors Association to organize a program to examine and give medicine to more than 200 people in Da Kai commune. At the same time, they coordinated with the Provincial Red Cross to organize a voluntary blood donation activity "Journey of sharing red blood" at the Provincial Youth Union headquarters. The program attracted more than 200 union members and young people to participate and donate more than 100 units of blood.
In particular, at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Binh Thuan province, 12 outstanding young doctors following Uncle Ho's teachings in 2023 were honored and rewarded. These are doctors with outstanding achievements in volunteer activities for community health, actively participating in charity activities, examining and treating the poor; typical young doctors who volunteered to think, dare to do, not afraid of hardship and sacrifice to participate in work, support hospitals and medical facilities in remote, isolated and extremely difficult areas.
As one of the 12 typical young doctors following Uncle Ho's teachings in 2023, Dr. Dang Chi Hung, Provincial General Hospital shared: "As a doctor examining and treating patients at the Emergency Department of the Provincial Hospital, I always constantly improve my knowledge and skills with the concept that all success comes from love for the profession". In addition to completing his professional work well, as a young doctor concurrently serving as Secretary of the hospital's Youth Union, Dr. Hung has proactively participated in providing professional support for the treatment of severe Covid-19 patients at the Traditional Medicine - Rehabilitation Hospital; organized medical examinations and provided free medicine for more than 130 poor people in Tan Quang village (Song Phan commune, Ham Tan district). At the same time, he maintained and managed the hospital's Live Blood Bank Team and participated in donating blood to save lives...
The “Journey of Young Doctors Following Uncle Ho’s Teachings, Volunteering for Community Health in 2023” taking place on the occasion of the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday has contributed to promoting the responsibility, pioneering and pioneering role of young people in volunteering for community health.
