As a figure with profound influence in American politics, Vice President Kamala Harris has had a spectacular career journey. She has always nurtured a deep desire to contribute to social justice and the national interest, with the belief that "the biggest customer in her life is the American people".
With her great contributions, she is a symbol of diversity and integration, bringing hope for a more equal and fair future for the American people. Therefore, the portrait of the female Vice President, and most likely the 47th President if she defeats former President Donald Trump on November 5, has gradually become a living testament to the American dream and a great source of inspiration for future generations in the land of the stars and stripes.
Humble origin
Kamala Harris was born on October 20, 1964 in Oakland, California (USA) to an immigrant family. Her mother is Indian and specializes in cancer research, while her father is an economics professor of Jamaican descent. Since childhood, Harris has been raised in a multicultural environment and influenced by rich ethnic customs.
In 1986, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science and economics from Howard University, a prominent historically black university in Washington, D.C. After graduation, she continued her education at the University of California, Hastings School of the Law and completed her law degree in 1989.
After becoming an assistant district attorney in the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office in Oakland in 1990, she became known for her hard-nosed, hard-nosed approach to combating gang violence, drug trafficking, and sexual assault. In 2003, she made her first major political appearance when she ran for San Francisco City Attorney.

Her career continued to grow when she was elected Attorney General of California in 2010, becoming the first person of color to hold the position in the state of California - the most populous state in the US. In this role, she faced many challenges, including addressing pressing issues such as drug crime, consumer protection and reforming the justice system.
In 2014, she married Doug Emhoff, a Jewish man born in Brooklyn, New York, and together they raised Douglas's two children, Cole and Ella.
Her success as Attorney General of California paved the way for Kamala Harris to enter politics. In 2016, she was elected to the US Senate, becoming the first African-American female senator to represent California.
In the Senate, Ms. Harris distinguished herself through her strong and incisive questioning in congressional hearings, including multiple times of key administration figures. She served on several important Senate committees, including the Judiciary Committee and the Intelligence Committee.

New historical turning point
In 2019, Ms. Harris decided to run for President in the 2020 White House race. She launched a campaign with strong commitments on healthcare reform, climate change, and workers' rights. Although she did not win the Democratic nomination, Ms. Harris left a deep impression on voters.
Then, when he became the Democratic Party's candidate, Joe Biden chose Ms. Harris as his running mate for Vice President, thereby opening a new chapter in American political history and setting a major turning point in Ms. Harris's career.
In November 2020, Kamala Harris made history when she was elected Vice President of the United States, becoming the first woman, first African-American, and first Asian-American to hold the position. The position of Vice President is not only an important milestone for Ms. Harris personally, but also has profound meaning for millions of women and minority communities in the United States.

During her tenure, she played an active role in addressing many domestic issues such as the Covid-19 pandemic, economic recovery, climate change, immigration, as well as handling foreign affairs with major countries and strengthening the US position in the international arena.
In addition, as President of the Senate, Ms. Harris broke a nearly 200-year tie on the inflation-reduction bill in the US Senate and presided over the inauguration of Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first woman of color to hold this position in the history of the US Supreme Court.
A new turning point came to Ms. Harris when in July 2024, President Joe Biden, the candidate chosen by the Democratic Party, suddenly announced his withdrawal from the race for the White House. What attracted even more attention was that President Biden decided to support his "deputy" Kamala Harris to become the new candidate of the Democratic Party. The above move by President Biden and the Democratic Party has created a promising new turning point for Ms. Harris. If she defeats the Republican candidate, former President Donald Trump in the race on November 5, Ms. Kamala Harris will be the first woman to hold the position of President of the United States.
Kamala Harris is not only a political figure with far-reaching influence, but also a pioneering woman, breaking barriers and gender stereotypes in American politics. As Vice President, Kamala Harris continues to build a lasting legacy. Behind her resilience, intelligence and sense of social responsibility, Harris's career has contributed to affirming that, regardless of origin or gender, people can achieve great things.
