The journey to conquer knowledge of the youngest female Associate Professor in Vietnam in 2024

Recently, on January 13, the Politburo and the Central Party Secretariat held a national conference on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. At the conference, General Secretary To Lam emphasized eight breakthrough tasks and solutions. In particular, the first requirement is to unify awareness and action, identifying science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation as a strategic task of the entire Party, people and army. This can be considered the "golden key" to overcoming the middle-income trap and the risk of falling behind, realizing the nation's aspiration for great power.

Attending the conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Ngoc Mai expressed his appreciation for the important directions and directions of General Secretary To Lam. Accordingly, for the first time, the field of science and technology associated with innovation and digital transformation is placed at the forefront, creating a foundation and many favorable conditions for scientists, especially young scientists, to promote their talent, intelligence and passion.

The young Associate Professor said that the current law includes 4 Laws on science and technology, 8 laws directly related to digital transformation, along with many other related laws, decrees, and circulars... creating a synthesis with many mechanisms and policies to encourage and give incentives on investment, finance, human resource development, promote scientific and technological activities, innovation, and digital transformation.

In addition, the issuance of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation also opened up a clear corridor, promoting cooperation between research institutes, universities and the business sector. Thanks to that, science and technology will have the opportunity to receive many effective investment resources, becoming a "launching pad" for research and development of science and technology according to the fund mechanism.

Along with the above expectations, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Ngoc Mai also expressed his hope that the mechanism of “accepting risks, risky investments and delays in scientific research, technology development, and innovation” will open up clear and specific opportunities to “untie” financial bottlenecks in research work. Because up to now, many scientists are often afraid or unable to pursue their goals to the end, because in reality, research is inherently a creative activity, looking for something new, something that has not yet existed, and success cannot be guaranteed.

Few people know that Ngoc Mai loves, and is even passionate about, writing books. In addition to the academic works that she is the author or co-author of, such as “The impact of the RCEP Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement on Vietnam’s textile and garment industry”, “Trade credit in import-export activities”, etc., the young Associate Professor is currently rushing to complete a book reflecting on the entire process of studying, training, striving and conquering knowledge as a small gift, contributing to spreading positive values ​​to young people and students who are passionate about scientific research. It is known that the above book will be published on March 8, on the occasion of the birthdays of both Ngoc Mai and her first daughter.
