Beach areas in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts (Da Nang city) were eroded by waves with a total length of about 500m.
On January 2, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, the Management Board of Construction Investment Projects (QLDA DTXD) of agricultural and rural development works in Da Nang mobilized forces to handle landslides at My Khe beach (Phuoc My ward, Son Tra district).
In recent days, big waves have eroded many coastal tourist areas in Da Nang. The most serious landslide is a section of more than 100m of My Khe beach, in Phuoc My ward (Son Tra district).
According to the Management Board of Construction Investment of Agricultural and Rural Development Projects in Da Nang, the beach area in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts was hit by waves causing landslides with a total length of about 500m.
This morning, forces were busy making sandbags and steel cages to create a barrier to prevent waves from hitting My Khe beach - known as "one of the 6 most attractive beaches on the planet".
In the immediate future, units will coordinate to build sandbag embankments to limit landslides caused by waves.
Units are taking advantage of the opportunity to speed up sandbag embankment work because the sea level is low in the morning and will rise higher in the afternoon.
The Management Board of Construction Investment of Agricultural and Rural Development Projects in Da Nang added that in the long term, Da Nang also has a policy of building concrete embankments in this area.
Faced with this landslide situation, recently, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City inspected the scene and requested departments, branches and sectors to have urgent response solutions to ensure safety for people and tourists.
At the same time, research and propose stable and long-term solutions to protect the coast, especially at My Khe beach.
