Thousands of students from the University of Economics and Industrial Technology participated in the contest "Learning about the traditions of the Industry and Trade sector"

On August 13, 2024, the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Plan No. 23 - KH/BCSĐ on organizing a Contest to learn about the tradition of the Industry and Trade sector. This is one of the most important activities of the Ministry of Industry and Trade towards the 75th anniversary of the Industry and Trade sector's tradition day (May 14, 1951 - May 14, 2026).

In order for the contest to receive the response and active participation of cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and workers in agencies and units under the Industry and Trade sector, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade has launched a movement to agencies and units under the sector to respond and participate in the contest.

After more than 1 month of launching the Contest to Learn about the Traditions of the Industry and Trade Sector, many units have actively participated in the response.

According to statistics from the Organizing Committee of the Contest, by the end of the first round (September), as of September 30, nearly 3,000 members both inside and outside the Industry and Trade sector had participated in the vote. In particular, many units in the sector have actively participated, such as the Departments of Industry and Trade, petroleum companies, and electricity companies across the provinces and cities.

Promoting the pioneering spirit of the contest, the Organizing Committee has recognized the active and leading participation of many universities in the Industry and Trade sector. Specifically, the University of Economics and Industrial Technology, the University of Electricity, Sao Do University, etc.

In particular, the Organizing Committee recognized the University of Economics and Industrial Technology as the pioneer and most proactive unit with the number of members as of September 30 reaching more than 1,000, most of whom are students of the school.

Appreciating the significance of the contest to learn about the tradition of the Industry and Trade sector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Thu Hoai - Party Committee Secretary, Chairwoman of the School Council shared that, implementing the direction of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, after receiving the official dispatch from the Ministry, the school leaders organized the implementation and assigned relevant units to seriously implement it with the highest responsibility.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Thi Thu Hoai - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Council of the University of Economics and Industrial Technology - highly appreciated the significance of the Competition to Learn about the Traditions of the Industry and Trade Sector launched by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Immediately after that, with the active participation of the school's leaders, lecturers, civil servants, employees, trainees and students, the contest was spread and received enthusiastic response, especially from students in the school.

The University of Economics and Industrial Technology was recognized by the Organizing Committee as the pioneering and most proactive unit with thousands of members registered to participate.

Ms. Hoai said: “ The contest has a very profound meaning, not only helping to improve historical knowledge but also helping to educate the younger generations, students and trainees in learning, preserving and promoting the good values ​​of the tradition of the Industry and Trade sector. At the same time, it mobilizes consensus, collective spirit, and a unified bloc in the whole industry to learn and contribute to the development of the Industry and Trade sector ”.

As one of the most active students participating in disseminating the contest program to students, Chu Khanh Linh - Member of the Secretariat of the Student Union of the University of Economics and Industrial Technology - said: " As a student, I find the contest "Learning about the tradition of the Industry and Trade sector" very meaningful, not only helping young people gain more historical knowledge about the industry but also helping us raise awareness of the role and importance of the Industry and Trade sector for the economic development of the country ".

In addition, Khanh Linh said that since the launch of the contest, all students in the school were very excited and responded. In particular, the content of artistic composition of poems, songs, photos, videos about the Industry and Trade sector and the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union; the creation of logos and symbols about the Industry and Trade sector, received a lot of attention and investment from students.

Previously, on August 14, 2024, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held the Launching Ceremony of the Competition to learn about the traditions of the Industry and Trade sector. The competition aims to honor traditional values, promote the position and stature of the Industry and Trade sector in the process of formation, construction and development since its inception; contribute to educating traditions, arousing the pride of officials, civil servants, public employees and workers in the Industry and Trade sector;

At the same time, the contest also helps raise public awareness of the role and importance of the Industry and Trade sector in the country's socio-economic development; raise awareness of the whole society about the activities of the Industry and Trade sector, thereby gaining social consensus and people's attention for the development of the Industry and Trade sector; encourage creativity and participation of all classes of people in learning and contributing to the development of the Industry and Trade sector.

The contest will be launched from August 15, 2024 to February 3, 2025 in 2 forms: Online contest (including 5 rounds, 1 round per month) and through works.
