The hot air balloon release program takes place from 6am to 9am and 4:30pm to 6:30pm on September 2nd and 3rd. The hot air balloon night will be from 7pm to 9pm each day. Unlike last year, this year's hot air balloon release program will not fly the national flag. Instead, a hot air balloon printed with the national flag, 18m high and 14m in diameter, is the highlight of this year's program.
This is a program assigned by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to the Department of Culture and Sports to be responsible for implementation, with socialized capital mobilization.
Also within the framework of the program to celebrate National Day September 2, other cultural, artistic and sports activities will also take place such as: Sports performances at 6:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. on September 2, at the pedestrian area of Nguyen Hue Street (from Ton That Thiep Street to Huynh Thuc Khang Street); Art program from 7:30 p.m. - 10:15 p.m. on September 2, at the pedestrian area of Nguyen Hue Street (intersection with Ngo Duc Ke Street); Organizing high-altitude fireworks display at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel (Thu Thiem Ward, Thu Duc City) and low-altitude fireworks display at Dam Sen Cultural Park (Ward 3, District 11).
Below are some photos that reporters of the Journalist & Public Opinion Newspaper recorded at the hot air balloon release program on the morning of September 2:
Image of the hot air balloon launch site from Bach Dang Wharf.
Thousands of people gathered on Nguyen Thien Thanh Street to watch the hot air balloon being released into the sky.
In order for the hot air balloon to fly into the sky, the organizers must blow large fans on the ground. After the balloon is inflated, hot air will be blown to make it fly.
Once the air is hot enough, the balloon begins to inflate, pulling the basket inside up.
Many small hot air balloons left the ground, much to the delight of many.
The balloon of a hot air balloon is usually made of nylon fabric, reinforced with pre-made fabric. This is the perfect material for hot air balloons, because it is lightweight, strong, and it does not melt like other materials when exposed to high temperatures.
These small balloons do not require many people to hold them in place before release.
With large balloons, multiple people must hold on and use ropes to secure them before they begin to leave the ground.
Preparing for the balloon launch was difficult due to the strong winds.
Large balloons began to gain enough heat to leave the ground, including a balloon with the national flag printed on it, 18m high and 14m in diameter.
