(Dan Tri) - On the evening of October 25, social networks spread information that thousands of clips secretly filmed female students of Tan Tuc High School, Ho Chi Minh City, in the restroom were being distributed and sold.
Accordingly, information spread that a male student of Tan Tuc High School had placed a hidden camera in the girls' restroom. Many images and clips were circulated and sold on a private group.
Immediately upon receiving the feedback, the Board of Directors of Tan Tuc High School coordinated with the District Police to verify and clarify the incident.
According to initial information from Binh Chanh District Police, on the afternoon of October 23, male student NQH - a 12th grader at the school - used his phone to secretly film a female 11th grader while she was going down to the cafeteria.
A female classmate found out and asked H. to delete it, but H. showed no interest.
This friend reported to his classmate named D.K. D.K. found and beat H., asking H. to delete the clip in front of him.
When the fight broke out, the school's Board of Directors invited the families of NQH and D.K. to the school to work. NQH wrote a statement admitting his mistake for secretly filming his classmate. D.K wrote a statement admitting his mistake for beating his classmate.
"However, on the evening of the same day, many public groups and fake accounts appeared on the Facebook platform revolving around the information that NQH secretly filmed female students at Tan Tuc High School by installing hidden cameras in the girls' restroom. The above information caused confusion among teachers, students, and parents," Binh Chanh District Police informed.
Binh Chanh District Police coordinated with the school's Board of Directors to quickly work with the students involved in the public opinion about installing this hidden camera, witnessed by the parents. The authorities also checked all the restrooms. The result was that no hidden cameras were discovered .
The male student NQH also confirmed that he did not secretly film the female student in the restroom. After checking H.'s personal phone, the authorities also did not discover any offensive images as posted on social networks.
The police also said that the information that NQH was transferred to a neighboring school was also fabricated. Currently, this male student is still studying at Tan Tuc High School.
On the personal page believed to belong to male student LQH, he posted a post confirming that he was really not involved in the incident of secretly filming or posting photos of female students as rumored.
The male student also denied the information that his girlfriend was an accomplice in helping him install a camera in the women's restroom.
Currently, Binh Chanh District Police have worked with the school's Board of Directors to deploy to homeroom teachers of each class to organize class activities to stabilize the students' psychology.
The district police also asked parents to stay calm, encourage students to study with peace of mind, and post information carefully and with verification when using social networks.
