MINT. India and Bhutan are in talks to expand and develop Gelephu airport , located near the border between the two South Asian countries.

ARAB NEWS. Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan agreed to maintain contact to ensure the Israel-Hamas conflict in the Gaza Strip does not spread to the wider Middle East.

UNCTAD. The conflict in the Gaza Strip has caused unprecedented levels of economic devastation, with the territory needing tens of billions of dollars and decades to recover, according to a report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

MANILA TIMES. Two people were killed and at least five others were seriously injured in an explosion at a fireworks factory near the Philippine capital Manila, the cause of which has not been determined.

BERNAMA. The Malaysian government will implement the Migrant Repatriation Programme from March 1 to allow illegal workers to return home without being prosecuted, Home Minister Seri Saifuddin Nasution said.

BANGKOK POST. The Thai government is stepping up efforts to negotiate with its Cambodian counterpart to address the issue of cross-border air pollution that threatens people's health.

China is ready to cooperate with ASEAN to soon complete negotiations on the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area ( ACFTA ) version 3.0, Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen affirmed.

YONHAP. ​​The Korean government announced the National Cybersecurity Strategy, which focuses on strengthening cybersecurity protection activities and building cooperation mechanisms with the international community.

KOREA TIMES. The South Korean Air Force participated in the US-led multinational air force exercise Cope North , which took place on Guam from February 5-23, to enhance combat capabilities with other countries.

AFP. Finland's air transport sector was brought to a standstill while offices were temporarily closed after a major strike in the Nordic country's capital on February 1.

AFP. The government of Catalonia, Spain has declared a state of drought emergency in Barcelona and the surrounding area after reservoirs there fell below 16% of capacity.

DW. Germany's Deutsche Bank announced plans to cut 3,500 jobs , one of a series of cost-cutting measures after Germany's largest bank reported a drop in net profit for 2023.

REUTERS. Europol has arrested 15 people in a network of illegal immigrants entering the EU through fake marriages with citizens of countries in the region.

America

REUTERS. White House senior clean energy adviser John D. Podesta will replace John Kerry as US climate envoy.

MAP. The conference on the topic of preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in Africa, co-chaired by Morocco and the United States, took place from January 31 to February 2 in the city of Marrakech, southern Morocco.
