Hai Phong is a port city, the largest industrial and seaport center in the North of Vietnam. It is also the economic, cultural, commercial and tourist center of the Northern coastal region. It is the third largest city in the country, and one of the five centrally-governed cities, a first-class urban center at the national level. Hai Phong always aspires to reach high and far, to be one of the locomotives and growth drivers of the key economic region of the Red River Delta, a place of convergence and dynamic development in all aspects.

Through the photo series “Hai Phong Aspiration to Rise High” by author Pham Thanh, you will see that Hai Phong possesses a modern infrastructure system and the “favor” of natural conditions. Hai Phong is determined to reach out to the world, realizing the vision of becoming a Global Maritime City and an international sea tourism center by 2050. The photo series was submitted by the author to the Photo and Video Contest Happy Vietnam, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications.

According to the report presented at the Conference on Appraisal of Hai Phong City Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, the Plan has set the goal of developing the city by 2030 to become a large seaport city, the intersection of one of the most vibrant economic triangles: Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh, playing the role of a driving force for the development of the Northern region and the whole country.

Dragon Hill International Tourism (Do Son) is a place where large, dynamic projects reaching out to the sea converge.

By 2050, Hai Phong aims to become a global maritime city with a high level of development and a good living environment, on par with the leading port cities in Asia and the world.

One of Hai Phong’s first “steps” to realize the 2050 vision is to plan and build Nam Do Son Port associated with the establishment of the South Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone; connecting the coastal highway, Tien Lang airport; expanding the space for marine economic development.
