Two female students with the same name are both valedictorians of Foreign Trade University with all A's in their transcripts.

Both Nguyen Thi Khanh Linh (class K59-English 01-KTQT, majoring in International Economics) and Nguyen Khanh Linh (class K59-English 02-LOG, majoring in International Business) received excellent graduation certificates with an absolute average score of 4.0/4.0.

During her 4 years studying at Foreign Trade University, in all 48 subjects with a total of 137 credits, Nguyen Thi Khanh Linh (from Bac Ninh, student of International Economics, course 59) got A's. Her cumulative average score was a perfect 4.0/4.0. If calculated on a 10-point scale, her average score was 9.18.

There are 2 subjects that the female student from Bac Ninh province achieved perfect scores on a 10-point scale: Principles of Accounting and Microeconomics. Linh achieved 9.6 points in her graduation thesis.

Even in two physical subjects, Physical Education 3 and National Defense Education, although they are not included in the calculation of cumulative academic points, she still got an A.

Sharing with VietNamNet , Nguyen Thi Khanh Linh said she was very happy and satisfied when her efforts were rewarded with results beyond expectations.

“Today's results are partly due to my own efforts but also thanks to the enthusiastic support of my friends and teachers,” Linh shared.

Four years ago, Nguyen Thi Khanh Linh was admitted early to Foreign Trade University through a combination of high school transcripts and third prize in the provincial English competition. That year, the female student from Thuan Thanh High School No. 1 (Bac Ninh) also achieved a very high high school graduation exam score of 28.05 points (including 9.6 in Math, 9.25 in Physics and 9.2 in English) - a score that could pass all majors at Foreign Trade University that year.

The female student said she chose Foreign Trade University because she saw many talented people entering and also started their development from this school. She likes the field of economics, so Khanh Linh did not hesitate.

She chose to study International Economics because she thought it was a major that focused on research – a direction that suited her. Khanh Linh said that what she was happiest about was that after graduating, she felt that this was still the right decision.

Achieving perfect scores with all A's on her report card, Khanh Linh believes that she has no special secret but simply focuses on the lectures of the teachers in class. She has a habit of taking notes on important knowledge points to make it easier to remember.

“I don’t study by reviewing knowledge near the exam, but try to understand deeply each lesson and stage. So, when the exam is near, my job is just to summarize, instead of passively ‘waiting until the last minute’, which is both hasty and harder to remember,” Khanh Linh said.

She participates in scientific research and is the author of 4 scientific articles (2 articles published in international conference proceedings, 1 article published in the Journal of Economics and Forecasting, 1 article published in the school magazine). Of which 2 articles are written in English.

Nguyen Thi Khanh Linh received the school's scholarship for students with excellent academic performance for 7 consecutive semesters. Not only is she a good student, Linh is also the deputy secretary of the administrative class.

She sees her excellent graduation certificate with perfect scores as just an initial success, and she still has to continue to make efforts. Linh is starting to research universities because she wants to study abroad in Europe, pursuing majors in economic management or finance. “I want to focus on getting more certificates as well as looking for learning opportunities. During that time, I will find a job as a research assistant to gain experience and accumulate experience for myself,” she shared.

She got perfect scores in 2 subjects on a 10-point scale and her graduation thesis got 9.5 points. If calculated on a 10-point scale, her average score is 9.42. With this result, the female student from Thai Nguyen became the valedictorian of the entire Foreign Trade University in the 2024 graduation season (2020-2024 course).

Four years ago, a female student from Thai Nguyen High School for the Gifted was admitted early to Foreign Trade University based on a combination of her academic record and second prize in the provincial English competition.

I chose to major in Logistics and Supply Chain Management because this is a broad major, related to many fields and after graduation I can work in many positions and stages in businesses.

Having achieved the results today, Linh believes that she always prioritizes studying and maintains a learning spirit throughout her university years. According to Linh, diligence is very important. She tries not to miss a single class. “In class, I get to listen directly to the lectures from the teachers, which helps me grasp the knowledge easily and saves time reviewing at home. From there, reviewing for exams is also easier,” Linh shared.

During the study process, especially near exams, Linh often re-reads basic theoretical knowledge before applying it to practice or solving exercises.

Khanh Linh said that being an “English major” was also an advantage during her studies at the Foreign Trade University. “In my curriculum, the basic and specialized subjects are taught in English. Having a foundation in English makes it easier for me to absorb knowledge. Especially in the process of scientific research, it helps me to find more information,” Linh shared.

Prioritizing studying and having a clear plan, Khanh Linh received the school's scholarship for students with excellent academic performance in 6 semesters. She also achieved IELTS 8.0, Chinese certificate HSK 3 (highest level is 6).

Linh has been involved in scientific research since her second year, focusing on the fields of import and export and agricultural products. Khanh Linh is the author of 5 scientific articles (2 published in international conference proceedings, 1 published in the Finance Journal, 2 published in the school conference proceedings), of which 4 were written in English.

Linh also won the Encouragement Prize at the 2022 Student Scientific Research Competition.

She is the class monitor of English Administration Class 2 – LOG -K59, participating in supporting the organization of many events of the Institute of Economics and International Business; member of the Guitar Club; head of the human resources department of the International Business Club of Foreign Trade University. The female student was honored as an outstanding student of Foreign Trade University in the 2021-2022 school year.

Nguyen Khanh Linh has been accepted to work at a company related to industrial machinery and equipment. She wants to accumulate more practical experience while working before thinking about further studies.
