Two former Vice Chairmen of Long Xuyen City were expelled from the Party.

On October 14, the Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee announced that it had just held a meeting chaired by Mr. Le Hong Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee, to discipline and expel from the Party two former Vice Chairmen of Long Xuyen City People's Committee, Nguyen Bao Sinh and Dao Van Ngoc.

Mr. Nguyen Bao Sinh, former Vice Chairman of Long Xuyen City People's Committee (An Giang) was arrested for his involvement in a land violation case.

The Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee noted that Mr. Nguyen Bao Sinh is a member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Long Xuyen City, directly directing and operating areas related to land, land use planning, public land management; natural resources and environment; Chairman of the Compensation Council for projects in charge of the field...

Mr. Dao Van Ngoc, a member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Long Xuyen City, directly directs and manages areas related to land, land use planning, public land management; natural resources and environment; Chairman of the Compensation Council for projects in the assigned area...

During their work, both men lacked responsibility in performing their assigned duties and tasks, were lax in management, and allowed their subordinates to violate the law and resettlement policies in order to appropriate and profit, causing loss of state assets.

The violations of both caused many party organizations, cadres, and party members of the Long Xuyen City Party Committee to violate Party regulations and State laws, and were prosecuted by the An Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency, prosecuted, and issued arrest warrants for temporary detention, including Mr. Nguyen Bao Sinh and Mr. Dao Van Ngoc.

The Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee found that Mr. Nguyen Bao Sinh and Mr. Dao Van Ngoc violated the law of the State, violated the Party's regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do, and regulations on the responsibility of setting an example for cadres and Party members.

The violations of both parties caused very serious consequences, affecting the State's management of land, causing bad public opinion, great indignation among cadres, party members and people, and damaging the reputation of themselves, the party organization, agencies and units.

The Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee decided to take disciplinary action by expelling Mr. Nguyen Bao Sinh and Mr. Dao Van Ngoc from the Party.

Mr. Nguyen Bao Sinh was prosecuted and detained in connection with violations at the Land Fund Development Center of Long Xuyen City (An Giang).

Previously, Mr. Nguyen Bao Sinh (48 years old, Vice Chairman of Long Xuyen City People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term) and Mr. Dao Van Ngoc (61 years old, Vice Chairman of Long Xuyen City People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term) along with many officials of the City Land Fund Development Center and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Long Xuyen City were issued with a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain by the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police.

They were identified as being involved in a criminal case of violating regulations on compensation, support, and resettlement when the State acquires land at the Long Xuyen City Land Fund Development Center from 2019 to July 2022.

The Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee also decided to discipline Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem Thuy, District Party Committee member, Party Committee Secretary, Military Party Cell Secretary, Chairwoman of My Luong Town People's Committee, Cho Moi District, former Head of the Finance - Planning Department of Cho Moi District and Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lieu, Party Committee Secretary, Military Party Cell Secretary, Chairwoman of Tan My Commune People's Committee, Cho Moi District.

During her tenure as a member of the District Party Committee and Head of the Finance and Planning Department of Cho Moi District, Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem Thuy was irresponsible in the appraisal and inspection of additional funding documents, failed to detect violations, causing loss of state budget and was sentenced by the court to 3 years in prison with a suspended sentence, with a probationary period of 5 years from the date of the first instance verdict.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lieu, a member of the District Party Committee, Party Secretary, and Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan My commune, took advantage of her position and authority to create fake construction records, causing loss of state budget. She was sentenced by the court to 2 years in prison with a suspended sentence, with a probationary period of 4 years from the date of the first instance verdict.

The Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee found that Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem Thuy and Nguyen Thi Bich Lieu violated the law of the State, violated the Party's regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do, and regulations on the responsibility of setting an example for cadres and Party members.

The violations of Ms. Thuy and Ms. Lieu are very serious, causing bad public opinion, great indignation among cadres, party members and people, damaging the reputation of themselves and the party organization, agency and unit. Therefore, the Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee decided to take disciplinary action by expelling Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem Thuy and Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lieu from the Party.
