In the letter, the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City said: It is known that Captain Nguyen Quoc Dat and Captain Le Duc Anh, during their field research in Nha Trang, saved a Chinese child from drowning. The good deeds of the two comrades demonstrate the excellent style of Vietnamese police officers and vividly depict the exchange of understanding, solidarity, friendliness and mutual assistance between the people of China and Vietnam.

"On behalf of the families of the rescued children, the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City would like to express our respect and most sincere thanks to the Long An Provincial Police and the two comrades," the letter said.
Previously, on January 25, Captain Nguyen Quoc Dat - Deputy Head of Hung Ha Commune Police, Tan Hung District (Long An Province) and Captain Le Duc Anh - Police officer of Phuoc Dong Commune, Can Duoc District (Long An Province) followed the research delegation of the intermediate political theory class organized by Long An Provincial Political School to visit and study at San Ho 2 Island, Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa Province).
When the group arrived at a restaurant for lunch, Captain Dat and Anh discovered a tourist resort employee trying to save a child who was showing signs of drowning in a nearby swimming pool. The two immediately jumped into the pool and helped bring the child to shore in a state of unconsciousness, cyanosis, and respiratory arrest...
Thanks to their proficiency in first aid, the two police captains continuously performed first aid measures on the drowning child, helping the child overcome the critical condition and transfer him to a medical facility for recovery.
It is known that the child, over 10 years old, was a Chinese tourist who had lunch with his family at the restaurant above. Because the swimming pool area was quite deserted, the child went into the pool alone and drowned.
On February 1, Long An Provincial Police announced to police units and localities in the province to commend the two captains.
