HAGL is constantly rejuvenating
The HAGL squad in the V-League 2024-2025 season was already young, now it is even younger. The mountain town team decided to recall 4 young players who are playing at Long An Club on loan, including central defender Dinh Quang Kiet (born in 2007, 1.95 m tall), striker Nguyen Minh Tam (born in 2005, 1.8 m tall), midfielder Moi Se (born in 2005, 1.7 m tall) and striker Hoang Minh Tien (born in 2005, 1.78 m tall). All are champions of the 2024 National U.21 Championship. These 4 players will have the opportunity to play in the V-League for the rest of the season.
If coach Le Quang Trai gives him the opportunity to play and perform well, Minh Tien could be called up to the Vietnam U.22 team by coach Kim Sang-sik.
Thus, up to now, HAGL has 17 players born after 2000, notably striker Tran Gia Bao, born in 2008, who also scored 1 goal in V-League. In addition to foreign players, the only remaining players born before 2000 are Le Van Son, A Hoang, Chau Ngoc Quang, Tran Minh Vuong, Phan Dinh Vu Hai, Nguyen Huu Anh Tai.
It can be said that after the "golden generation" of Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, Van Toan, Van Thanh, Hong Duy... HAGL has almost completely changed, both in terms of personnel and playing style. The mountain town team has almost no stars, does not play flashy, but the positive point is that they are creating many opportunities for young players, which is beneficial for Vietnamese football.
Pay attention to Hoang Minh Tien
Among the group of 4 newly added players, striker Hoang Minh Tien is a prominent face. He grew up in the HAGL training center and regularly participated in Vietnam's youth teams such as U.17, U.19, U.20. Notably, during the training trip with the Vietnam U.17 team in Germany in early 2022, Minh Tien performed extremely impressively. He and central defender Nguyen Manh Hung (The Cong Viettel Club) were highly appreciated by German experts and were given the opportunity to stay for a week of intensive training at Eintracht Frankfurt Club.
Minh Tien (2nd from left) was highly appreciated during the training trip in Germany of the Vietnam U.17 team.
After that, Minh Tien continuously gained experience in youth tournaments, then played for Kon Tum Club in the national third division. He was named by Coach Hoang Anh Tuan to the list of players attending the 2023 AFC U-20 Championship, and played quite well in the 2025 AFC U-23 Championship qualifiers. He showed the potential to become a leading striker of Vietnamese football in the future. And before being named by Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh and Coach Le Quang Trai to the list of players attending the 2024-2025 V-League, he was also named by Coach Kiatisak Senamuang to do the same in the 2023 season.
Minh Tien has great potential, but the important thing now is that the striker born in 2005 must try his best to be given the opportunity to play at HAGL. From there, coach Kim Sang-sik will have a basis to evaluate his ability and call him up to the Vietnam U.22 team to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
