The 2023 National Elderly Singing Festival will take place from October 26 to 28 in Hanoi, organized by the Vietnam Association of the Elderly in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This is the first time the festival has been held at the national level.
The festival was attended by 400 members and actors from 19 senior art troupes from the representative boards and senior association of provinces and cities who had won A prizes in previous regional senior singing festivals held in Ha Tinh, Khanh Hoa, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

The national festival focuses on the following themes: praising the Party, Uncle Ho, love for the homeland and country; pride in the national historical tradition and the country's innovation achievements in all fields; the tradition of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly; contributions of the elderly in the movement to build cultural families, build new rural areas, and civilized urban areas...
The art troupes brought to the festival performances rich in content, invested in grand and elaborate staging; clearly and authentically depicting the image of the homeland, people, national and regional cultural identity, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of the audience.
With the message "Elderly people live happily, healthily, happily", the 2023 National Elderly Singing Festival has contributed to widely spreading the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on protecting, caring for and promoting the role of the elderly; encouraging and motivating the elderly to actively participate in the emulation movement "Old age - Bright example" in the community.

This is also an opportunity for the elderly to show their talents and passion for art; to meet, exchange, strengthen solidarity, and contribute to building a strong association. Through the festival, art troupes also contribute to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values; promoting the image of the people and cultural identity of the homeland to friends across the country.
Based on objective and fair scoring criteria, the organizing committee awarded 8 A prizes to the following units: Hanoi, Ha Tinh, Dien Bien, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ninh Thuan, Tien Giang; awarded 6 B prizes to the following units: Ben Tre, Cao Bang, Ha Nam, Khanh Hoa, Hung Yen, Quang Ngai; awarded 5 C prizes to the following units: Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa. In addition, awards were also given to 3 groups, 19 individuals and 32 best performances of the festival.
Ha Tinh has 2 performances selected to perform at the closing and award ceremony.
With 4 performances participating in the festival, which were invested in and staged elaborately and methodically, the art troupe of the Ha Tinh Association of the Elderly won the overall A prize. In addition, the troupe also received 3 awards: outstanding solo performance; outstanding group and scene singing performance; and outstanding individual performance.
The troupe was also honored to have two excellent performances selected to perform at the closing and award ceremony: Nghe Xam "Proud of Mother Hong Lam" and folk song "Ha Tinh Elderly People Obey Uncle Ho's Teachings".
