Hanoi commends and rewards two students with special achievements

Previously, Dang Tuan Anh had won the Gold Medal at the 2024 International Biology Olympiad, and Huynh Trieu Dien had bravely saved a person in distress.

Representatives of the Hanoi City Emulation and Reward Board and the Hanoi Department of Education and Training awarded prizes to Dang Tuan Anh and Huynh Trieu Dien.

At the 2024 International Biology Olympiad (IBO) held in the Republic of Kazakhstan, student Dang Tuan Anh from Chu Van An High School won the Gold Medal, contributing to the achievement of the Vietnamese team in 3rd place out of 81 participating countries and territories.

During his 3 years of high school, Dang Tuan Anh has always been an excellent student and achieved many high achievements including: First prize for excellent students of Ba Dinh - Tay Ho cluster (school year 2021 - 2022, 2022 - 2023); Gold medal for excellent students of the Association of specialized schools in the Northern Delta coastal region (school year 2021 - 2022, 2022 - 2023); Certificate of Merit and Sao Chi Linh Scholarship (school year 2021 - 2022, 2022 - 2023); First prize for excellent students of Hanoi city (school year 2022 - 2023); Second prize for excellent students of the country (school year 2023 - 2024); Odolvalet Scholarship; Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training (school year 2022 - 2023, 2023 - 2024)...

Besides his efforts in studying and training, Dang Tuan Anh also actively participates in Youth Union activities, social and charity activities, and participates in organizing the charity program "Wings of Dreams" at Nguyen Dinh Chieu School...

Two students with special achievements received recognition from Hanoi City, Hanoi Department of Education and Training and teachers.

Regarding Huynh Trieu Dien's brave act of saving a person in distress, the Department of Education and Training of Long Bien district said: on the afternoon of July 16, 2024, while he was swimming in the sea in Duy Hai commune, Duy Son district, Quang Nam province, he discovered a child in a state of drowning in an area outside the warning buoy (safe area). Without hesitation, Dien bravely swam to where the child was in distress and brought him safely to shore. The child who escaped drowning was Pham Huu Hoang Vinh (born in 2015, residing in Quang Nam province) and is currently in stable health. Huynh Trieu Dien's brave act of saving a person in distress has been confirmed and commended by the local authorities of Duy Hai commune, Duy Son district, Quang Nam province.

According to the Long Bien Department of Education and Training, Huynh Trieu Dien won the Gold Medal at the 12th Young Talent Swimming Competition of Ba Dinh District and the Gold Medal at the Bac Ninh Open Swimming Competition. In the 2023-2024 school year, he achieved outstanding results in Math and English. He was assessed by his teachers as always strictly following school regulations, being polite to teachers, knowing how to share and help friends... In particular, when he learned that the family of the student he saved from drowning was in difficult circumstances, Dien decided to use part of the bonus money to give his friend a set of school supplies before the new school year.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong congratulated student Dang Tuan Anh on his excellent achievements and praised Huynh Trieu Dien for his brave act of saving people in distress.
