Hanoi seeks public opinion on renovation of old Kim Lien apartment complex

Vice Chairman of Dong Da District People's Committee Ha Anh Tuan said that recently, the Government and the city have focused on perfecting mechanisms and policies to support the renovation of old apartment buildings. In particular, Decree 69/ND-CP of the Government has been issued to review and remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process. Hanoi has developed many projects and topics for implementation.

Dong Da District has 12 large apartment buildings with 507 apartment buildings, the area with the largest proportion, accounting for 30% of the city's old apartment buildings. According to the decentralization, Dong Da District organizes the implementation of the planning project and then reports to the departments, branches, and the City for approval. Dong Da District is simultaneously performing the task of inspecting, evaluating, and establishing a detailed planning project for the renovation and reconstruction of the apartment building.

At the conference to collect opinions, most people basically agreed with the policy of renovating and building Kim Lien collective housing area, and at the same time contributed to the mechanism, policy of relocation, compensation, implementation methods, and project progress.

Representatives of Dong Da district departments received and directly responded to people's opinions at the conference, and said they would request and supervise the consulting unit during the planning project preparation process, meeting practical needs, improving the efficiency and practicality of the project, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

Kim Lien collective housing area is a model collective housing area - one of the first collective housing areas in the country as well as Hanoi, built from 1965-1970 of the last century. The collective housing area consists of 44 apartment buildings from 2-6 floors located at the intersection of Pham Ngoc Thach street with many important public and service works.

As one of the oldest apartment buildings in Hanoi, when designed synchronously with full technical infrastructure, social infrastructure such as playground, school, medical station...

After nearly 60 years of use, the apartment complex is in a state of serious disrepair and degradation. The buildings are increasingly dilapidated, not only no longer suitable for the modern image that the surrounding area is aiming for in general, but also bring concerns about the safety and comfort of the residents living here in particular. The renovation and reconstruction of the apartment complex is an urgent and legitimate need of the people here...
