Hanoi plans to convert over 1,200 hectares of rice paddy land in 2025.

According to Plan No. 6713, in 2025, the area of ​​rice land converted to annual crops will be 535.38 hectares; the area of ​​rice land converted to perennial crops will be 180.75 hectares; and the area of ​​rice land converted to rice cultivation combined with aquaculture will be 561.21 hectares.

The Hanoi People's Committee has assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to take the lead and coordinate with relevant departments and agencies, as well as the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities, to guide and inspect the implementation of Plan No. 6713 in accordance with regulations; to guide the selection of suitable annual crops, perennial crops, and aquatic species for restructuring crop patterns on rice-growing land in Hanoi, while also meeting the needs of the people.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment is responsible for guiding, inspecting, and supervising land management for areas where crop and livestock structures are being converted on rice-growing land in Hanoi City, in accordance with regulations; and coordinating with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to guide and inspect the implementation of the Plan in localities.

The Hanoi People's Committee also requested that districts, counties, and towns be responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of the registered area for converting crop and livestock structures on rice-growing land. They are also responsible for guiding, inspecting, and supervising the implementation of crop and livestock structure conversion on rice-growing land.

The People's Committees of communes, wards, and towns shall develop and issue a plan for restructuring crop and livestock production on rice land at the commune, ward, and town level; organize consultations with relevant households and individuals to determine the conversion areas; and publicly announce the plan for restructuring crop and livestock production on rice land at the headquarters of the People's Committee of the commune, ward, or town within 30 days...
