Google launches Android 14 with Pixel 8 duo

“Creative AI (artificial intelligence) wallpapers” is one such feature of Android 14 that first appeared on the Pixel 8 series. It uses AI to let Pixel 8 users create wallpapers with text prompts. Users can also customize their own wallpapers by choosing from a list of suggested wallpapers, according to Android Authority .

Android 14 also introduces other customizations that aren't limited to the Pixel 8 series. Users can add shortcuts to the lock screen in the bottom corner. Some shortcut options include: Camera, Do Not Disturb, Mute, QR Code Scanner, Device Controls, Google Home app, Flashlight, and Video Calls.

Users can also experiment with fonts, widgets, colors, and formats to further customize their Android 14 lock screen. On the visual front, Android 14 supports 10-bit HDR (aka Ultra HDR), which delivers more vibrant colors and enhanced contrast.

Android 14 health and security updates

The Health Connect app is now built into Android 14, so devices won't need to download it.

To better secure your device, Android 14 will encourage users to set a six-digit PIN. Once you enter the correct PIN, the device will automatically unlock instead of having to press enter to unlock the device as before.

Android 14 Availability

Google says Android 14 will start rolling out to supported Pixel devices today. That includes the Pixel 4a 5G and later. Pixel Tablets will also get the update along with the handsets.

Android 14 is also coming to devices from Samsung, iQOO, Nothing, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno, vivo, and Xiaomi later this year.
