Starting at tee 1 with two legends Raymond Russell and Vanslow Luke Phillips, golfer Nguyen Minh Tuan played confidently. While Russell and Phillips both made bogeys at the par-4 hole 1, he had his first birdie.
On the following holes, the golfer who represented Vietnam at the World Amateur Championship (WAGC) continued his top form. Finally, he finished the first official day with 40 points (gross 70, net 67), while Phillips had even par, Russell +4.
30 Vietnamese athletes impressed on the first competition day of Vinpearl DIC Legends Vietnam 2023.
On the Vietnamese golf rankings, right after Nguyen Minh Tuan is Le Chuc An (38). Third place is Luu Van Tuan, who had 6 birdies, with 35 points. Nguyen Anh Minh, a promising talent, had an unsuccessful day, finishing T12 (30).
However, Anh Minh has a habit of starting slowly before exploding on the next day of competition. So hopefully he will play better to continue to advance to the final round.
