Launching the Research Project on the Effective Use of Biofuel in Automobiles
In Vietnam, Toyota is actively promoting activities towards the goal of reducing CO2 emissions. In addition to developing green vehicles, typically hybrid vehicles, Toyota is also interested in current vehicle lines, which are traditional gasoline vehicles. Especially when traditional gasoline vehicles still account for an overwhelming proportion in the Vietnamese automobile market. The project to study the effectiveness of applying biofuels to new generation automobiles in Vietnam, in cooperation with Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company, signed on March 16, is a move that shows the company's multi-dimensional approach in the journey of greening transportation in Vietnam. This activity is within the framework of the Project to develop multi-dimensional approaches, aiming at the goal of reducing carbon emissions through providing alternative energy solutions and selecting electric vehicles that suit the needs of customers regardless of infrastructure development or financial capacity, realizing the dream of using green cars of Vietnamese people.Associate Professor Dr. Truong Hoanh Son said that Hanoi University of Science and Technology will actively cooperate in the biofuel research project.
Cooperating with Toyota Vietnam in this project, Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Hoanh Son - Principal of the School of Mechanical Engineering - Hanoi University of Science and Technology also commented that: “Toyota Vietnam Automobile Company has continuously grown and developed not only in terms of production scale but also in sales. Toyota has been making efforts to join hands to achieve the goal of reducing emissions through the development of environmentally friendly vehicles, suitable for traffic conditions in Vietnam. Hybrid technology combined with biofuel will be an effective solution to reduce carbon, contributing to the goal of Net Zero of the Vietnamese Government . Along with that, on March 18, Mr. Tien Quoc Hao - CEO of Toyota Asia shared at the Foreign Trade University in Hanoi about Toyota's philosophy and culture, while emphasizing the group's carbon neutral orientation. Mr. Tien Quoc Hao has led the process of transforming Toyota's brand in Asia from an automobile manufacturing company to a mobility solution provider, including the launch of many electrified vehicles, aiming for carbon neutrality along the value chain, and embarking on research and launching new mobility initiatives. Mr. Tien Quoc Hao has more than 30 years of experience at Toyota Group and has worked in Asia for the past 9 years, in charge of 22 companies in 17 countries in the ASEAN bloc and South Asian countries, along with production activities in 8 countries including Vietnam.
