(CPV) - This year's National Volunteer Awards honor 10 groups and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in volunteer activities; thereby honoring, encouraging, promoting and replicating typical examples of dedication and outstanding contributions in volunteer activities for the community.
On the evening of December 29, in Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held the 2024 National Volunteer Awards Ceremony and the Ceremony to honor 200 outstanding volunteer clubs, teams and groups in 2024. This is an activity to concretize the year of "Youth Volunteers 2024", welcoming the success of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024 - 2029.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam emphasized that for the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and other youth and student organizations in Vietnam, the Youth Volunteer Movement has always been the main revolutionary action movement in the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement, thereby promoting the spirit of dedication, initiative, dedication and volunteerism of union members, association members and young people in participating in the development of the country, for the community and society. After 25 years of implementing the Youth Volunteer movement, 25 years of the Summer Youth Volunteer campaign, 10 years of Youth Volunteer, the green shirt of the Youth Volunteer has been widely spread, trusted and recognized by the people. Vietnamese youth are ready to go anywhere, do anything when the Fatherland needs, ready to go to the most remote areas of the Fatherland, to the most disadvantaged people who need support and help, to carry out many meaningful projects and tasks in the locality.
To honor and recognize the contributions of organizations and individuals, and spread humanistic values and the spirit of compassion in the community and society, since 2011, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the United Nations Volunteer Program have organized the National Volunteer Day and the National Volunteer Award Ceremony every year, thereby honoring, encouraging, promoting and replicating typical examples of outstanding dedication and contributions in volunteer activities for the community, while promoting the pioneering spirit of the youth, calling on all classes of people to be ready to join hands for the community, contributing to building and defending the Fatherland.

"I am very moved to meet here, groups and individuals from many parts of society, but sharing the same noble humanity, willing to sacrifice hardships, dangers, and hardships to come to difficult places, willing to spend time and effort to create meaningful works and tasks for people in difficult areas, people who are "willing to give without receiving anything in return", "living is to give, not just to receive", faces representing the spirit of "mutual love and support", representing the volunteer hearts of millions of Vietnamese people who always carry within them the desire to help others.
On behalf of the Central Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, I would like to express my deep affection, gratitude and appreciation to all the delegates present here, as well as volunteers and young volunteers across the country who are contributing to the volunteer movement every day and every hour, and at the same time acknowledge and appreciate the outstanding results that collectives, individuals, clubs, teams and volunteer groups have achieved in 2024. You are the ones who voluntarily do beautiful things in life, create countless initiatives that contribute to the development of the country, and positively inspire millions of people across the country. I hope that the spirit of dedicated service and dedication to the community will be promoted and spread by the collectives and individuals honored today, becoming positive factors, inspiring the community and society with meaningful actions, tasks and projects," said comrade Nguyen Tuong Lam.

This year's National Volunteer Awards honored 10 groups and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in volunteer activities. These are typical groups and individuals among 355 submitted applications, including 195 individual applications and 160 group applications. The Organizing Committee also awarded prizes to 2 groups and 1 individual participating in the 2024 National Volunteer Awards with the most votes on social networks.
In addition, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union honored 200 clubs, teams, and groups with outstanding achievements in volunteer activities in 2024.
