The Vietnam Digital Awards 2024 (VDA 2024) voting program was launched by the Vietnam Digital Communications Association and VietTimes magazine on April 16. This is the seventh year the award has been held.
Dr. Nguyen Minh Hong, Chairman of the Vietnam Digital Communications Association, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award 2024, said that this year's award responds to the 2024 theme of the National Committee on Digital Transformation, which is: "Developing the digital economy with 4 pillars of the IT and Communications industry, digitalization of economic sectors, digital governance, digital data - Important driving force for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development".
Emphasizing that digital transformation is the responsibility of all agencies, organizations, and businesses, Dr. Nguyen Minh Hong said that the success of the national digital transformation depends largely on the building of digital government and digital administration of state agencies from central to local levels. State agencies at all levels need to pioneer and take the lead in digital transformation to better serve people and businesses.
“Contributing to promoting national digital transformation, this year's award aims to discover and honor outstanding state agencies and digital transformation enterprises, in addition to typical digital transformation products and solutions,” said Dr. Nguyen Minh Hong.
Specifically, according to the announcement of the Organizing Committee, the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award 2024 will continue to honor agencies, organizations and individuals with outstanding digital transformation achievements in 5 categories, including: Outstanding digital transformation state agencies; Outstanding digital transformation enterprises and public service units; Outstanding digital technology products, services and solutions; Digital transformation products and solutions for the community; Foreign technology products, services and solutions.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Acting Director of the National Digital Transformation Agency (Ministry of Information and Communications) Ho Duc Thang said that the National Digital Transformation Agency particularly appreciated the improvements in organizing the award after 6 years of implementation. From the initial 2 categories, the award has now expanded to 5 categories, adding awards for digital transformation products and solutions for the community and foreign products, services and solutions; Along with that, the category of excellent digital technology application has been expanded into 2 independent awards, with the aim of creating conditions for many businesses and agencies to be recognized and honored.
Mr. Ho Duc Thang also commented that from the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award, many business models have achieved success. For example, Vietnam Electricity Group - EVN has actively deployed connections with digital platforms, providing 100% online services, contributing to making EVN's operations more efficient and transparent. Rang Dong Light Bulb and Vacuum Flask Joint Stock Company is also a prominent example, with revenue growing 21% each year thanks to the application of digital transformation.
According to the assessment of the representative of the National Digital Transformation Agency, after 6 years of organization, the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award has attracted great attention from the business community and organizations, contributing to creating motivation for different sectors in the economy to apply digital transformation solutions. The highlight of this award is that it not only awards outstanding digital transformation solution providers but also those who effectively deploy digital transformation solutions.
“The award also recognized and honored international organizations that have made important contributions to solving Vietnam's challenges with digital transformation solutions, reflecting Vietnam's recognition and appreciation of foreign enterprises in the development of the digital economy and society in Vietnam,” said a representative of the National Digital Transformation Agency.
According to statistics, over 6 consecutive years since 2018, the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award has reached more than 16,000 agencies, organizations and businesses nationwide, attracting nearly 1,800 entries. The award has honored nearly 400 agencies, businesses, and outstanding digital transformation units and typical digital transformation products and solutions.
The Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award 2024 will accept online applications from April 16, 2024 to June 30, 2024 at the program's website vda.com.vn. After that, the Preliminary Selection Council and the Final Selection Council will work to select the most outstanding units and products. This year's award ceremony is expected to be held in the first half of October.
