(NLDO) - The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires schools to create favorable conditions and resolve issues reasonably and equitably for students who do not reside in the city during the Tet holiday.
On December 13, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu signed a document guiding the adjustment of the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
According to the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, based on the city's official dispatch on adjusting the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule of the Education and Training sector; based on the actual situation of implementing the education plan of schools in the area, in order to ensure consistency and create conditions for students and teachers, the department guides the adjustment of the Lunar New Year holiday schedule with the following contents:
Adjusting the Lunar New Year holiday schedule for preschool, general education and continuing education in Ho Chi Minh City from January 23, 2025 (December 24 of the lunar calendar) to February 2, 2025 (January 5 of the lunar calendar).
More than 1.7 million students in Ho Chi Minh City have 2 more days off for Tet than planned for the school year.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training assigned heads of educational institutions to proactively develop their unit's plans based on the principle of ensuring sufficient teaching and learning time, testing, evaluation and completion of the school's educational plan in the 2024-2025 school year according to regulations.
The head of the unit needs to create favorable conditions and resolve issues reasonably and equitably for students who do not reside in Ho Chi Minh City during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
Previously, on December 12, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a document approving the proposal of the Department of Education and Training to increase the number of days off for the Lunar New Year 2025 for students by 2 days. Accordingly, the Tet holiday will start from January 23, 2025 (December 24) to February 2, 2025 (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), a total of 11 days.
Thus, students in Ho Chi Minh City will have 2 more days off for Tet than the decision in the 2024-2025 school year. Specifically, it is 2 days before Tet At Ty.
