Ho Chi Minh City Night Run 2024 has a total prize of over one billion VND

VPBank VnExpress Marathon Ho Chi Minh City Midnight 2024 taking place on March 3 will award more than 100 prizes, totaling more than one billion VND.

The 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Night Run does not divide into professional and amateur categories. The prize structure is spread across many distances and age groups to encourage the movement. In particular, in the 42km distance, in addition to the two age groups of 50 to 59, over 60 will be awarded to the top 3, the final prize and the remaining age groups will be awarded to the top 5.

The male and female winners of the 42km distance received the biggest prize, worth a total of 48.7 million VND. The prize includes 25 million VND in cash, along with a Garmin watch and a discount coupon from Nike. Compared to last year, the Organizing Committee increased the cash prize to encourage the athletes' competitive spirit.

The runners-up received prizes worth VND42.7 million (VND20 million in cash), the third-place prize worth VND36.7 million (VND15 million in cash). The top 4 and 5 received prizes worth VND24.7 (VND12 million in cash) and VND22.7 million (VND11 million in cash) respectively.

For the age groups, the under 30, 31 to 39, 40 to 49 groups will receive cash and in-kind prizes of equal value. The first-place athlete will receive a prize of 13 million VND, the second place will receive 11 million VND, the third place will receive 9 million VND, the fourth place will receive 8 million VND and the fifth place will receive 7 million VND. The third place in the 50 to 59 age groups and the over 60 group will receive prizes worth 7.5 million VND, 5.5 million VND and 4 million VND.

The half marathon distance has three overall prizes. First prize is worth 26.2 million VND, second prize is 23.2 million VND and third prize is 20.2 million VND. For the age group of 21km, the top 1 group under 30, 31 to 39, 40 to 49 will receive 11 million VND, top 2 is 9 million VND and top 3 is 7 million VND.

The age group of 50 to 59 and over 60 will receive prizes of the same value. Accordingly, the first place runner will receive 6.5 million VND, the second place is 4.5 million VND and the third place is 3 million VND.

For the 10km distance, the prize structure is divided into the top 3, respectively 9 million VND, 7 million VND and 5.5 million VND. The 5km distance has prizes worth 8 million VND, 6 million VND and 4.5 million VND. Runners can see more details about cash and in-kind prizes here.

In addition to the prizes for the athletes with excellent achievements, the organizers will award medals to all runners who complete the race properly. Runners in the 21 and 42km distances will receive finisher shirts.

From 2024, Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) will accompany VnExpress Marathon to organize the VPBank VnExpress Marathon Ho Chi Minh City Midnight (VVMM) race, lasting for 5 years. VPBank representative said that they have high expectations: "We believe that together with VnExpress Marathon, we will create new heights for the Vietnamese running movement, spreading the values of physical and spiritual prosperity to everyone, every home, every land".

VPBank VnExpress Marathon Ho Chi Minh City Midnight starts on March 3, with an expected participation of 11,000 athletes. Like other tournaments in the system, runners participating in the Ho Chi Minh City night race will receive medical care, water and electrolyte support, and safety assurance on the racetrack.

The race attracts many elites in the community to participate. In addition, nearly 500 international runners will participate in the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City night race.
