Similar to recent management periods, today, the joint Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not draw or spend from the Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products.

Since the beginning of the year, 16 petroleum enterprises have requested to return their petroleum distribution licenses.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the reason is that these businesses could not maintain sufficient operating conditions, so they proactively returned their licenses. The agency said this development did not affect the market.

There are currently nearly 300 petroleum distributors on the market. They are the units that purchase petroleum from the main enterprise to sell at their affiliated retail stores and agent systems, and franchise units.

In the dispatch dated June 22, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to ensure supply and manage gasoline prices according to regulations.

"The Ministry of Industry and Trade shall preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to synchronously and effectively implement solutions to ensure the supply of gasoline for the domestic market, in all situations, to prevent gasoline shortages and manage gasoline prices according to regulations; strengthen market inspection and supervision, strictly handle violations; absolutely do not allow shortages or interruptions in gasoline supply; conduct specialized inspections on the implementation of electronic invoices," the dispatch stated.
