Domestic gold prices have fallen sharply following the news that the State Bank will implement new measures to stabilize gold prices starting next week. Accordingly, the State Bank will sell gold directly to four state-owned commercial banks, including Agribank , BIDV, Vietcombank, and VietinBank, so that these banks can sell it to the market.
The price of gold sold to commercial banks will be decided by the State Bank, based on world prices.
In the world market, gold prices are also under pressure from the USD and rising US Treasury bond yields. Currently, world gold is trading around 2.2335 USD/ounce, down more than 25 USD compared to the opening session.
The precious metal’s decline comes ahead of a key inflation report due out on Friday, as investors brace for potential surprises that could force the Fed to revise its monetary policy outlook.
