In recent times, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program in Phu Ninh district has created an important driving force, promoting the development of agricultural production, increasing production value, creating many high-quality products. After being recognized, OCOP products have increased in value, competitive advantage, expanded the market, contributed to increasing profits, and creating jobs for local workers.
Kim Quyen cassava cake production facility, zone 2, Phu Loc commune strictly implements food quality and safety standards during the production process.
In order for the OCOP Program to create a new breeze for the rural economic sector, the district has developed a specific plan, clearly defining the content, tasks, and key solutions; selecting, building, and developing products associated with the strengths of each locality; diversifying forms of propaganda and mobilizing people, cooperatives, and enterprises to boldly invest in expanding production scale associated with ensuring criteria on quality, food safety and hygiene, while flexibly applying mechanisms, policies, and resources to support product development, bringing high efficiency and economic value.
In 2024 alone, the district has 5 products from organizations, individuals and production and business households participating in the evaluation and classification, including: Phu Loc grapefruit, Kim Quyen cassava cake, Dai Ngoc Tuu yellow sticky rice wine, Le My hill chicken, Moc Quy Huong instant tea. Up to now, the whole district has 23 products and 1 group of products meeting OCOP standards, including 1 4-star OCOP product being submitted to the National Council for evaluation and recognition of 5-star OCOP products; 3 4-star OCOP products, 19 products, and 3-star OCOP product groups.
Realizing the importance and benefits of OCOP products, Kim Quyen cake production facility, Zone 2, Phu Loc commune with 3 main cassava cake lines: Bean and meat filling, Coconut bean filling and Wood ear and meat filling has focused on standardizing the criteria to be recognized as a 3-star OCOP product. Ms. Han Thi Thanh Quyen - Owner of the production facility said: "Recently, the facility has been recognized for its cassava cake with bean and meat filling that meets 3-star OCOP standards. OCOP certified products demonstrate investment and attention in production and business stages, most clearly in product quality and packaging design, thereby enhancing the reputation and value of the product."
Reality has proven that typical products of Phu Ninh district, typically Gia Thanh seedless persimmon, Duc Ty green tea, Phong Chau cassava cake... after being certified as OCOP have met quality and food safety standards, suitable for the needs and tastes of consumers. Many products are eligible to enter supermarkets and modern distribution systems. Product prices are 10 - 30% higher than before. This is the motivation for investors to increase production scale towards goods.
In order for OCOP products to develop sustainably, the work of maintaining and improving the quality of OCOP products after being recognized has been of interest to the authorities at all levels in the district, organizing inspection and examination activities at production and business establishments and OCOP entities in the area. Through the inspection work, in general, OCOP entities comply well with the State's regulations on food hygiene and safety, people directly involved in production at the establishments are equipped with knowledge, have regular health check-ups, raw materials before being put into production and processing have clear origin...
To build, develop and increase economic value from OCOP products, the district continues to encourage enterprises, cooperatives, production establishments and production households to register to participate in building and standardizing products, ensuring criteria and instructions; focusing on supporting OCOP entities to complete dossiers, assessment and classification procedures; increasing the opening of training courses and knowledge training for managers and operators of the OCOP Program at district and commune levels and registered units to develop business plans, complete packaging, labels, traceability stamps, food hygiene and safety...
Along with that, increase support for subjects participating in the Program to build systems and points of introduction to sell OCOP products in localities; promote the application of digital transformation in promoting the development of e-commerce systems, through e-commerce platforms, online sales channels, especially for local specialties and typical products.
