Rice prices drop sharply by 200-500 VND/kg, rice exports slightly decrease

Rice prices today, July 19, in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated in opposite directions, with rice prices decreasing and rice prices remaining stable. In the export market, rice export prices decreased slightly by 1-2 USD/ton.

Rice market in localities in the Mekong Delta today is generally slow, raw rice is not imported due to rain, there is little good rice, much bad rice.

Specifically, in Sa Dec (Dong Thap), it is difficult to buy good rice, rice prices fluctuate little. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), prices are stable, there is little good rice. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), transactions are slow, rice quality is poor, raw rice is scarce, rice prices are stable.

According to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, rice prices remained stable compared to yesterday. Specifically, IR 504 summer-autumn raw rice remained stable at VND10,650 - 10,750/kg; IR 504 finished rice remained at VND12,500 - 12,600/kg.

By-products today recorded no adjustment compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of IR 504 plate is at 8,700 - 8,900 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry bran is stable at 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg.

At retail markets, rice prices have slightly decreased for most retail rice products. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND22,000/kg; Jasmine rice is VND14,000 - 15,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice is VND18,500/kg; regular rice fluctuates around VND14,000 - 15,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice is VND18,000 - 19,000/kg; Jasmine rice is VND19,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is VND20,000/kg; common white rice is VND14,500/kg; regular Soc rice is VND15,000/kg; Thai Soc rice is VND18,000/kg; Japanese rice is VND22,000/kg.

Regarding rice, it is noted that in localities, new rice transactions are slow due to rain, many places have stopped buying, prices have fluctuated little, and traders have abandoned their deposits to buy at low prices.

Specifically, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, rice prices have been adjusted compared to yesterday, IR 50404 prices fluctuate around 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice prices are at 7,100 - 7,300 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice prices are stable at 6,500 - 6,700 VND/kg (down 200-300 VND/kg); OM 18 rice is priced at 6,700 - 6,900 VND/kg (down 300 VND/kg; OM 380 ranges from 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg; Japanese rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 is priced at 6,600 - 6,800 VND/kg, (down 700-900 VND) and Nang Nhen rice (dry) is at 13,000 VND/kg, down 500 VND.

Accordingly, the glutinous rice market recorded an adjustment compared to yesterday. An Giang glutinous rice is 5,700 - 6,000 VND/kg. In addition, 7,700 - 7,900 VND/kg is the selling price applied to Long An glutinous rice (dried). On the other hand, 3-month glutinous rice (fresh) is stable compared to yesterday at 7,300 - 7,500 VND/kg and Long An glutinous rice is 6,300 - 6,500 VND/kg.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices decreased compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice remained stable at 460 USD/ton; 5% broken rice remained stable at 560 USD/ton, down 2 USD; 25% broken rice was at 537 USD/ton, down 1 USD.
