DNVN - The price of live pigs on December 25, 2024 recorded an increasing trend in the South and Central regions, while the North remained stable at a range of 63,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.
Northern pig price
For many consecutive days, the Northern region witnessed stable prices after the previous period of sharp increases.
Currently, the price of live pigs in the North fluctuates from 67,000 - 69,000 VND/kg, with the highest price of 69,000 VND/kg appearing in provinces such as Hanoi, Tuyen Quang, Bac Giang, Thai Binh, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc and Nam Dinh.
Pig price in Central Highlands
In the Central and Central Highlands regions, some places recorded a slight increase this morning.
Specifically, the price of live pigs in Dak Lak and Thanh Hoa both reached 68,000 VND/kg, while Khanh Hoa increased slightly to 65,000 VND/kg. The whole region is currently trading live pigs in the range of 64,000 - 68,000 VND/kg.
Southern pig price
The South continued the upward trend with upward adjustments in Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, reaching the highest price in the region at 68,000 VND/kg.
Other provinces in the region currently have prices ranging from 63,000 - 67,000 VND/kg.
Overall, the price of live pigs nationwide remains stable at 63,000 - 69,000 VND/kg, with the prospect of stable supply to meet year-end demand.
Recommendations for farmers and businesses
Farmers are advised to choose the right time to sell their pigs when prices reach high levels, and to focus on disease prevention measures to ensure the quality of their pigs.
Businesses in the industry need to step up purchasing and stockpiling goods to meet market demand during the Lunar New Year, while closely linking with livestock facilities to stabilize supply.
Livestock situation in Uong Bi city
In Uong Bi City, livestock and poultry have recovered after the natural disaster, with a scale of over 345,000 poultry, 1,200 buffaloes, 1,300 cows and nearly 9,700 pigs, according to the Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper.
The city has issued three decisions to support agriculture with a budget of VND2.26 billion, along with support from CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company with 10,000 breeding chickens, 2.5 tons of feed and biological products.
Mr. Trieu Phi Long, Head of the Economic Department of Uong Bi City, recommends that people choose livestock with clear origins, take good care of them and vaccinate them fully to protect their livestock.
It is expected that by the end of this year, Uong Bi City will supply the market with about 3,400 tons of livestock and poultry meat.
