DNVN - In the trading session on October 18, 2024, the price of live pigs nationwide unexpectedly remained stable after many days of continuous decrease, fluctuating between 62,000 - 65,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the North

In the North, the price of live pigs on October 17, 2024 continued to maintain a horizontal trend in many localities, with prices ranging from 64,000 - 65,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, Thai Nguyen and Thai Binh are the two localities with the highest live hog prices in the region. The remaining provinces also maintained the purchase price of 64,000 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous trading session.

Pig price in Central Highlands

In the Central and Central Highlands regions, live hog prices remained stable in many localities, with no adjustments recorded this morning. Prices in this region are fluctuating between 62,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Lam Dong and Binh Thuan all recorded prices of VND64,000/kg, while Dak Lak was the locality with the lowest price, only VND62,000/kg. The remaining provinces in the region maintained the price of VND63,000/kg.

Pig price in the South

In the South, the price of live pigs today also maintained a stable trend like other regions in the country, fluctuating from 63,000 - 65,000 VND/kg.

Ben Tre recorded the lowest price in the region at 62,000 VND/kg this morning. In contrast, provinces such as Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City all purchased at the highest price of 65,000 VND/kg. The remaining localities traded at 64,000 VND/kg.

In general, the price of live pigs nationwide unexpectedly remained stable after a series of consecutive days of decline. According to a survey, the price of live pigs in the three regions currently fluctuates from 62,000 - 65,000 VND/kg, with the average price nationwide falling to 63,800 VND/kg.

The current downward trend has made farmers more worried, especially when large enterprises such as Vietnam Joint Stock Company have also adjusted the price of live pigs down. Specifically, the price of pigs in the North decreased by VND1,000 to VND66,000/kg, while in the South, the price decreased to VND64,500/kg. This is the first time in more than 3 months that the price of pigs of large companies is higher than the market price.
