DNVN - On November 15, 2024, the price of live pigs in some southern provinces continued to increase, while the price of live pigs nationwide remained in the range of 60,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

Pig price on November 13, 2024: Slight decrease in the South

According to records, the price of live pigs in the North today is stable, fluctuating from 62,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

Lao Cai and Ninh Binh are currently selling at 62,000 VND/kg, the lowest in the North. At the same time, Hanoi and Phu Tho are selling at 64,000 VND/kg, the highest in the country. The remaining provinces in this region are purchasing at around 62,000 - 63,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in Central Highlands

Pig prices in the Central Highlands provinces this morning did not have any significant fluctuations.

Currently, live pigs in this area are trading at a difference of 60,000 - 62,000 VND/kg, of which Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh , Quang Binh and Lam Dong reach 62,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the South

In the South, the price of live pigs increased by 1 price in Ben Tre and Soc Trang, currently reaching 62,000 VND/kg, equal to the price in Long An and Dong Thap.

Survey shows that Southern traders buy live pigs at around 60,000 - 63,000 VND/kg, of which Can Tho and Ca Mau have the highest price in the region at 63,000 VND/kg.

The trend of live pig prices is from 60,000 to 64,000 VND/kg, with the North and Central Highlands remaining unchanged, while the South continues to increase slightly, showing the impact of supply, disease and year-end consumption demand is gradually increasing.

The increase and stability of live hog prices have given farmers peace of mind in preparing supplies for Tet, contributing to ensuring a stable supply of pork in the market. However, it is necessary to continue monitoring diseases, improving livestock quality and optimizing costs to balance the benefits of farmers and consumers.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vinh Long province said that the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries has discovered and destroyed an outbreak of African swine fever at a household in Thuan An commune, Binh Minh town with 8 pigs, total weight 119 kg, according to Vinh Long Newspaper.

Since the beginning of the year, Vinh Long province has recorded 5 outbreaks of African swine fever in 5 communes of Tra On, Mang Thit districts and Binh Minh town, with a total of 84 sick pigs destroyed, with a total weight of 5,282 kg.

Up to now, most of the African swine fever outbreaks in Vinh Long province have passed the 21-day quarantine period, but the outbreak in Thuan An commune is still under strict control.
